I don't usually play Rebels, but my buddy is a hardcore Imp. so I thought I'd try something new when RA hits.
Green Squadron Pilot - A Wing Test Pilot, Chardaan Refit, VI, PtL x2
Tala Squadron Pilot x2
Blue Squadron Pilot - Advanced Sensors, HLC
The basic idea is to send the As after things like Phantoms and Interceptors, while the Zs soften targets for the Blue's HLC to finish off.
I'd have to say the Phantom's would chew up the a wings.
If your opponent was smart he would probably see them coming and adjust.
Depending on the Phantom I guess but if it's echo you would still have a hard time with only 2 attack dice.
Phantoms are very slippery.
I think you would want to focus
Again depending on the Phantom, but I'd say your more than likely to run into echo or Whisper, therefore why have VI on the a wings if the Phantom will more than likely shoot first?
If you can predict where he is going to go you would be better off using the b with the hlc. That will hurt more than the a imo
Edited by Krynn007Yeah, the named Phantoms will be a pain, but I think their famed maneuverability is overly white roomed. Asteroids and other ships might make it less slippery, IDK.
The VI is really for an edge against lower PS.
I've been using echo a lot and I've found getting around the asteroids no problem at all. As for other ships if your familiar with their dials a lot easier to predict.
The phantom is predictable as well, it's just he is so **** good avoiding archs that catching him is tough.
I usually try to see where my opponent is going to be in two turns and where I'll be, and in the middle throw a wrench in there and move somewhere else. Throwing him off.

I believe a good list can beat anything. Just have to fly it well.
All I can say is give it a try. Tweak any tweaking and try again
If you took VI off maybe consider fletched torpedoes.
When I fly Phantoms I avoid stress and k turning like a plague
That could open up a shot with a b wing with hlc if you didn't kill it off with the a.
