2 questions about gaining gold

By Stranger2607, in Talisman Rules Questions

The first question pertains to the "Treasure Map" Object (from the sacred pool exp). The text states "whenerver you draw an Object from the adventure deck you may also gain 1 gold". Am I correct interpreting the wording exactly as writen that even if you can't take the item (for whatever reason, alignment, capacity or even lose a fight with an enemy) the player collects the gold anyway since it says when drawn, not when taken. When drawing more than one Object at the same location does the player gain 1 gold for each Object drawn. And since when initially drawing a bag of gold card it is an Object does the player gain 1 gold additionally from the treasure map?

The second question is about the alchemist with an axe. Reading through the exact wording, if the alchemist moves to a woods or forest space he can use the axe to make a raft, then using his special ability "during your turn, you may alchemise any Objects you have into gold. Discard the chosen Objects and gain 1 gold for each Object and 3 gold for each Magic Object." This means that every time the alchemist lands on the woods he can make a raft and imediatly turn it into 1 gold. Am I interpreting this correctly? I can't seem to see anything that indicates that this is a rules breech, just a bonus for the alchemist or a character with the alchemist follower.

Correct on everything!

Interesting use of the alchemist. I am not the best rule scholar, but it all sounds legit to me. That alchemist is getting more and more powerful as such things become more discovered!

It takes a whole turn to make raft doesn't it?

You take a Raft from the Purchase deck when you declare that you are building a Raft and then next turn you decide whether or not to cross the river; the Raft is then discarded. So the Alchemist is quite within his rights to alchemise a Raft when he has it!

Technically yes, it takes a turn to build a raft.

Turn 1, you land on the woods and encounter the space normally

Turn 2, On this turn since you are already here you may decide to build a raft as per the rulebook for the base game, page 17 ... Any character in a Woods or Forest space at the start of his turn who has an Axe may declare that he is building a raft for that move. Instead of moving, the character takes a Raft card from the purchase deck.

(It's at this point that I think the Alchemist could use the raft for gold but he would be spending a turn in the Woods or Forest to do so.)

Turn 3, Cross the river using the Raft and discard the Raft OR decide not to cross the river using the raft and discard the raft anyway.
