Combined with the recent talk about discounts on SW toys, I'm guessing they're liquidating their stock for good.

But on the bright side... If they are liquidating you may be able to find some good x-wing deals at B&N in the coming weeks.

The first thing that I thought of was that they got in trouble for releasing the huge ships prematurely, but that doesn't really track I don't think. They only really started carrying the full range very recently, possibly it doesn't sell well in that venue, it us a bit of a mismatch.

Usually, these huge chains want to do massive numbers for their shelf space. If your product can't do it, they'll replace it with something that will.

Niche games like X-Wing typically don't do the numbers something like Monopoly or Risk do.

Have you guys seen what they stock at B&N these days? I have a hard time believing they move a lot of Super Mario product, or 3D jigsaw puzzles for that matter. That stuff's been there for ages, I don't think the fact that X-Wing is a niche product is altogether that relevant.

I received the email from Barnes and Noble as well, but later I received another email saying that it was delayed... I was so confused about what is happening such that I cancelled the order and ordered from Miniature Market.

I don't think Barnes and Noble will get into trouble with FFG, B&N is a big supply chain that in order to get even 1 copy of one model into each of their stores in the US, it'll be an order of thousands. However, I agree that if it didn't sell as they expected it to be, they might use the shelf space for something that sells faster (I suspect the collectible card games like MTG and Yugioh, my local B&N always have a shortage of MTG & Yugioh).

My B&K has always had spooky xwing product, for a while I thought they were not restocking. Still they got me my Ywings when mm couldn't. I'll miss having that excuse to visit, guess I can probably make up another.

Wait. Is there any confirmation that they are not carrying wave four? Do you think calling would get that? I've been saving two barnes and noble gift cards for like eight months in order to use them on new x wing ships, and will be SO disappointed if they stop carrying them!!

my semi-local B&N has ALWAYS carried more X-wing stuff than my local Game store AND has better prices... truth be told though my local game store is more of a local "magic" store...
