Hoping to get in on this, I called my nearest B&N in Portland (which is not all that near, nor is it actually inside Portland, which is why I called). The guy there told me that X-Wing stuff was not on sale, nor did he know anything about it going on sale.

So, 'fraid that's another datapoint in the 'no' column.

It's Portland, X-Wing is too cool for the hipsters to be on sale. Now Gresham, that's a whole other story...

No one I talked to in the Anchorage Alsaska store knew anything about a sale either.

Yep, no sales at the BNs in northern NJ either...

I checked 4 stores in Central NJ as well no one has any ideas about a coming sale I was told twice that they thought it old since this wk was the big clearance sale for alot of things. They could be wrong and I'll keep you post.

My B&N in Layton, UT just put their stuff on clearance as of yesterday. The employee helping us said it was a corporate thing too, and they would no longer be carrying any X-wing stuff. Of course the other B&N's I called within a 50 mile radius had no clue what I was talking about.

It's highly unlikely that only a few B&N would do this without all of the other stores following suit shortly. The one report of a canceled pre-order for wave 4 is pretty convincing.

I'll be keeping an eye on the three B&N in my area, although.. I'm not certain what more I'd want out of what they currently carry. Maybe a second YT and Y-wing... but that's about it.

I was fortunate to pick up my 4 starters from Target's clearance, I got 2 of them for $12 each, so I dig the possibility of more deals.

MNwild - you might be onto something, being Mn is the hometown of it, and we are all hungry for ships all the time, they may not drop it to much. I had checked the one in Maplewood today, and they were still full price, and another agent out there checked rosevilles this morning and said they were untouched as well.

I stopped in and talked to an employee. She grabbed 3 ships off the shelf and looked them up in the computer. She said it said they were to remain on display until mid September. I'm in MI.

I checked the b&n in Allen park, mi and everything was still full price. Didn't ask around at all.

LukesFather - You're probably right. It seems like this is the psudo-epicenter for x-wing because of FFG. The manager said she just finished re-stocking the shelves and creating a new, larger display as they just got a replacement order in. (And yeah, I checked... no wave 4.)

It's just weird that wave 4 was on their website and available for pre-order and now its not. And they've apparently canceled people's pre-orders. It just seems weird that it wouldn't be a national thing and that they give the regions that much lee-way when it comes to ordering and sale items...

Pre-order for Rebel Aces is up with a release date of July 28th. There's no listing for wave 4, or 5 for that matter, and what they do have online is missing the X, Y, A and TIE/I from what I can tell.

I really want to believe the 7/28 date however without Rebel Aces being "On The Boat" status, I find it harder and harder to believe that it will even make a July release.

Perhaps it will be available at Gen Con for prerelease with full release after?

Don't know why they are getting out of xwing. Lord knows bookstores are having a hard time right now, and if this stuff sales at most of their stores the way it does here they would be dumb to drop it.

Spoke to an employee and he told me they were not getting out of xwing as far as he knew. They were simply told to get rid of the inventory and ffg doesn't accept returns from them...their loss is our gain!! :-)

I don't imagine that they would have an expansive selection, so I'd probably pick up a core set; maybe a B-Wing or an A-Wing. Interceptors for sure.

Though, if they had a Tantive IV at $45 and/or a transport at $30, you'd better believe I'd be grabbing that up.

I'd buy mostly Empire stuff. I have most of what I want for the Rebels, so I'd stock up on some of the different TIEs. Maybe grab a Y-wing or 2. And YES to huge ships at 50% off!
