The Bandits serve as fodder, blockers, and cheap damage. Airen is my go to actions guy - also a priority target - and makes everyone around him better. Giving TL + F, or letting Chewie boost (either closing to R1, or arc jumping). Chewie is both a big gun, as well as my tank. DTF to eat some crits if needed, Gunner to ensure shots, and Recon to make him hard to hit.

Rather than a recon Specialist (whose second focus does nothing for you on defense because of your 1 defense die) and draw their fire, I'd probably do Predator and the Falcon Title. Chewie's action is to evade, Cracken can give him a boost or make the other Z's more potent with TL/Focus, and the predator lets Chewie have a mini target lock on both gunner shots.
