According to this ruling, I was misplaying Cage Arena with Hilde the entire time at the California regionals.

I would just like to take this time to apologize to everybody I played, and if anybody feels cheated out of a potential top 8 berth I am most doubly sorry (especially to those other two Hilde players at the event).

I don't know exactly what I can do to make it right, as I was playing under a misinterpreted ruling given to me by Hata (not making excuses), but I feel terrible about what is essentially cheating.

It's fine, mistakes happen, and no one called a judge on it, so, was their fault just as much as yours. Plenty of people ran infinite multiple ukyo before the multiple of multiples ruling was clarified.

naw, I don't feel cheated. You used to mostly on my attacks, so it was too hard to deal damge to you (**** my high speed attacks). I will just have to play you again at WCC and see how that goes

Nah, it's all good man. As as far as I'm concerned you earned your 2nd place finish and no one's gonna take that away from you. Hope we get a chance to play against each other for real next time man. It was a good scrimmage we had. (Hopefully the West Coast has another event before we have to wait a year for regionals season again.) And yes... I will ALWAYS remember Hilde's effect. Haha.

This is much more of a "doh!" moment then a cheatery moment. For the longest time in our area, we thought Big Cyclone interrupted an attack when it was played via it's ability and played it as such until a ruling said otherwise. I doubt anyone is going to call you on it, maybe tease you a little bit, and more likely then not, appreciate that you realized your error then apologized for it (something quite a few people don't do).

The better question is simply: What are you going to do now? Like what's going to replace Cage Arena?

Arch think of it this way. Jeremy Ray at least years Can Nats "cheated" with the Addes/Curse Broken jank. After we all read it, nobody cared lol. I wouldn't be too worried. It's not like the Olypics where you can have yer 2nd place stripped.

More importantly, is this confirming that the damage redux does not 'tally' into the negatives when attempting to reduce below zero? That was the only thing that seemed wrong to me about the rules involved, or unbalanced about Hilde.

Also, I was tempted to make some Mr. Period-type comment about how "'Apparently' is an introduction word. It doesn't mean anything unless there's something after it. A few more words and we can make grammar fun!".

Nah, don't worry about it. It's realy no big deal, since it was a weird rules interaction and everything. It's a little different when you're not aware that it's not supposed to work, as opposed to actual cheating. Live and learn and all that.

1) It's essentially free reduction that CAN'T be used against Hilde.

2) It wins the mirror match.

3) It's a terrain, every deck should be packing terrains now.

You can also just enhance with Cage Arena first. Not quite as potent, but hey, it's free redux.

Like this is the first time a card/ruling was misplayed.

It really makes no difference. When you think about it, you're attacks would have been a little weaker, but still lethal nonetheless.

Thank you for attacking me in the very thread where I am apologizing for working under a misconception due to a ruling I got from Hata himself. It should be noted that Cage Arena->Hilde was not always my primary win condition, and most of my wins came from the standard.

Lynx Tail->Amy's Assistance->Hilde->Healer->Hilde combo

Do you really need my acceptance so hard that every time I get a little capricious you have to go on the hyper defensive?

So, if the card cannot be used against Hilde (1st statement), how does it win the mirror match? If you're using Lynx Tail, then Cage Arena says "choose 1: commit 1 foundation for -3 dmg; or your opponent commits 1 foundation." This is not a game-breaking card for the mirror match, especially considering that your opponent gets the same choice.
