Parry with a fast weapon

By Khalual, in WFRP Rules Questions

When you parry worth a weapon with the fast trait do you get the one less recharge token?

No.

Also, The fast rule has been clarified in the errata. You need to spend a boon to trigger the fast-effect, and as you do not roll when using parry you cannot put one less recharge token on the card.

Also if you take a specialization in weapon skill for parry what good does that do if a specialization adds an extra fortune die to checks?

It's if you'r GM asks you to roll weapon skill for things related to parry. So I guess it could be used to show off parrying skills (for example if you sparr and only defend you might get to roll to parry). So in general, it is kind of a useless specialization.

Many GMs allow their players to add an extra misfortune die to the check when they use the parry card instead, as that makes the specialization a lot more useful.

The Rules Errata has a great clarification on block/dodge/parry specialization. You can download that: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite.asp?eidm=93

You could petition your GM to allow you some kind of bonus in a particular circumstance, or perhaps when facing a particular creature type. For example: Parry Great Weapons (petition your GM to give you a bonus black die) or the same for Parry Vs Greenskins.

If you have a specialization in parry, it would help if you used a card that depended on parry, such as riposte. Since you had to have successfully parried an attack, a specialization would give you an extra white die on your riposte attack.

I have found that parrying an attack does not always work, so it is a specialization that is hit or miss.
