In a recent game A player confronted the Eagle King and used Soul Shatter to win the battle. Was this legal? If it was, what spells can't you use on the EK?
What spells can be used on the Eagle King?
The Eagle King is considered a CREATURE.
Soul Shatter states " Cast on any character or CREATURE who you are about to engage in psychic combat. If cast on a character, he loses 2 lives. If cast on a creature, it is killed."
Therefore, as long as he attacked using Craft, then yes, he can use Soul Shatter.
Edited by adjogiWhile the Eagle King (and Ice Queen, etc.) is considered a Creature, it is also an Alternative Ending. As such, the rules for Alternate Endings includes this section:
None of the creatures in the Inner Region (nor any of the Alternative Ending Cards) can be affected by any Spell. They also cannot be evaded.

I was assuming Eagle King on the Eyrie space of the Highlands which would be the case as i mentioned. If Eagle King Alternate Ending, however, then you are correct - no spell would work.
Against the Eagle King (Eyrie space) you may use any Spell except Spells that fight in your place (e.g. Summon Phoenix).
With this small addition, the picture about the different "Eagle Kings" of Talisman is complete.
