Infinity Symbol

By Nasuko, in UFS Rules Q & A

Okay, I built a new deck, and I'm hearing so many different things, so can someone please tell me how the infinity symbol works, because I can't find anything about it anywhere?

Right before you play the card, you choose a symbol. As long as the card is in play, that Infinity will become that symbol you chose.

Example. I play Seal of Cessation and say that infinity is Evil. I end my turn. Next turn I choose to play an Olcadan's Mentoring, but choose its infinity to be Death. Let's assume that the opponent uses an ability that destroys a card with Evil in my staging area, and sees that Seal of Cessation has "Evil", but the Infinity on Olcadan's is "Death" so while Seal of Cessation is a valid target, Olcadan's not a target for that ability.

Basically, when the card comes into play you choose one of the twelve resources, and until it's out of play the infinity on THAT card will count as if it were the one you mentioned when it first came into play.

Stamp for Guitalex

Awesome thanks Guitalex, that actually cleared up quite a bit, but that leaves me with a couple of more question. How does it work for universal fighter then does he pick a symbol at the beginning of the game, and retain said symbol throughout the game? Also can I declare infinity as my symbol of choice when playing infinity cards?

Pointing to the AGR ( Advanced Game Rules )

11.13 Infinity

11.13.1 Before a player plays or places a card with the infinity symbol into play, they choose one of the other twelve resource symbols; the infinity symbol is that symbol as long as the card is in play.

11.13.2 When a player reveals a character with the infinity symbol at the start of the game, they choose what symbol it will be for the rest of the game when their character is revealed.
