Developing list: Kessel Run

Yes, it's jumping the gun, but I saw the yt-2400 and thought 'wouldn't a han / dash list be cool'. Also I'm fairly sick of seeing lists with 2 named yt-1300s plodding around the board in formation. They should be zooming around, blasting through imperial blockades and dodging asteroids. That and barrel rolling large ships is great.

The starting point is:

Han, expert handling

Dash.

Thats 84pts. Add dash's doughnut of death (hlc + outrider) and there's 4 pts left.

Since the idea is to avoid getting shot and blast stuff away, VI on dash seems sensible. Which leaves 3pts. Han's offence is pretty good as is, so I'm favouring c3po or nien on han for the defence or stress management. It's a pity there isn't enough for 3po and the mf title.

So how about:

Han, EH, c3po

Dash, VI, outrider, hlc

Or:

Han, EH, nien

Dash, VI, outrider, hlc, merc co-pilot (or other 2pts somewhere)

Thoughts? Maybe other options will appear when we know more of the w5 content?

In this case, I wouldn't bother with HLC. Too many pts which you could be using to round out your defenses. I'd consider ion cannon instead and use extra 4 pts for upgrades, or instead of outrider title, go with gunner.

I think Han and Dash will be a nice combo.

Han can screen the enemy formation and actually draw their fire while Dash is allowed to manuever and keep his large deadzone away from the enemy formations. Once you lose Han, you should have widdled the enemy squad down to a ship or two. I think Dash will be super hard to kill one on one. Even with the huge deadzone, his barrel roll should give him a lot of buffer. You'll have trouble if the list you are against has a designated flanker that can pursue Dash.

I think the only ships Dash will need to worry about is ones that can move fast. Interceptor, A-wing, Phantom, etc. Running VI on Dash will help him knowing where everyone is. Merc. Co-pilot is not a bad crewmember on the Outrider. You'll be trying to stay at range most of the game and should be triggering the Merc's ability often enough. I'm really not opposed to the saboteur on Dash. If for any reason you can't barrel-roll away from range 1, be it the edge of the map or other ships, the very least you can do is try to cause a crit.

My guess is there is some crew or EPT that buffs Dash and the Outrider when he can't fire at range 1.

If Dash was 3 attack dice I'd go with gunner on both rather than the doughnut, but there are too many high agility ships to run with 2 dice on a 2 ship list.

He should be able to get out of R1 as he can go anywhere and should be moving last so you could just change direction and watch them zoom past...

It'll be interesting to see what other possibilities are opened up as more content is spoiled.

I like the idea you're going for, but I agree - Han needs Gunner. As tempting as the HLC might be on the Outrider, I don't know if I'd be willing to sacrifice Gunner on Han..

Total of 99 points. More because I can't not take those two upgrades on Han or it just feels wrong. You can, of course, now take a slightly cheaper option of Chewbacca with a Han crew card rather than the other way around - which will probably save enough points to allow you to take Leebo on the Outrider...
