Infinite Coordinate Loop Discovered

By Darramouss, in X-Wing

Hello.

I've looked through the forum and cannot find a post discussing this so I thought I might bring it to everyone's attention.

If you have a GR-75, a CR90 (Dodonna's Pride) and another ship you can run an infinite Coordinate loop.

Let's say that you have an A-Wing. Its action is evade. Then the GR-75 coordinates another evade on the A-Wing. (Evade count = 2) Then Dodonna's Pride coordinates. It can coordinate on two ships so it coordinates the A-Wing and the GR-75. The A-Wing evades (evade = 3) and the GR-75 coordinates on the CR90. The CR90 coordinates the A-Wing and the GR-75. A-Wing evades (evade=4), GR-75 Coordinates the CR90............

A-Wing is untouchable.

Did I miss the post that has already spoken about this or is this new?

Surely there needs to be a mechanic to stop this?

There's already a mechanic to stop it: no ship can take the same action more than once in a round.

That does not work at all.

1) Huge ships cannot perform free actions. A coordinate action does not work on huge ships.

2)No ship can perform one specific action more than once per round. The A-Wing can perform only one evade action in one round. A huge ship cannot perform the coordinate action more than once in one round.

This has been another edition of short answers.

That and infinite rules are strictly a no go in the rules should one ever arise.

But yeah, like above. NOPE

I'm glad as infinite loops suck.

In regards to the coordinate not working on huge ships, where does it say that? I can't find it in the Huge ship rules, nor in the rules booklets for the CR90 and GR-75.

Coordinate isn't specifically restricted, but in both the CR90 and GR-75 rules inserts there's a section near the end of the booklet (under the heading "Free Actions", logically enough) that says "Huge ships cannot perform free actions." And since Coordinate allows the target to take a free action…

Yesh, this has been debunked,

but Iam going to try and see how much action multiplying I can do with this :)

Right now Iam going to try out in my next battle:

Dodona's Pride coordinates, Dutch Vander, who target locks and lets Dodona's Pride aqcuire a Target Lock who has Weapons Engineer and Sensor Team...

I think this might be fun, If Dutch is in range for Locking something that is... :)

Fantastic. Thank you all for your responses!! It's greatly appreciated.

The scenario in the GR-75 box does specifically allow Coordinate to be used on other transports, but it's explicitly noted that it's for purposes of that scenario only. So part of the OP could work in a very particular situation. The no repeating actions still kills it dead though.
