If mine comes in after they're on the shelf of my local gaming store, I'll be quite irritated.
Why not support your FLGS by buying there?

I'd guess the same reason I bought my wave 4 stuff from MM. Because as much as I like my LGS, giving them an extra $90 just isn't something I feel makes sense. I buy stuff from them from time to time. I bought Imp Aces and will buy both boxes of Reb Aces and Wave 5 from them.
But when you're getting to an extra $75-100... I just can't justify that much extra.
I buy single ships from time to time from my local gaming store with all kinds of board games. I also buy from mm because those kids rock. I just bought my 11th and 12th tie fighter from my LGS this last weekend and another 20 in food/drinks in the last week.
Edited by CubanboyI buy from my FLGS. But they're usually only 2 bucks a ship more than MM. At that point I'd rather just give them the money.

You know something though it really will be ok. I am guessing your MM stuff was cheaper by 5 a piece if you have to wait a day or so it is the trade off. Plus if your LGS gets them first buy a single ship from them in support, and overall if we have waited 5 months a guess a couple more days will be alright :-p
My local retail charges same as MM for pre-orders. The only thing I pay over is tax. Given that I did not know this until I had dropped $360 on MM, if the local comes in first by anywhere in the neighborhood of a whole week...I will not be as happy.

I've preordered at MM, Barnes & Noble and my FLGS. I cancelled the B&N since I was only hoping that their shipping dates were correct and ahead of the curve however they don't seem to be any better. I've also preordered the bulk of my wave 4 through MM and one of each from the FLGS that way I can support the place where I play as well as in the event that they get their stock in before my MM order arrives, I'll have ships in hand

Much as the game’s second wave shook up the metagame with the introduction of its first large ships, the Millennium Falcon and Slave I, the game’s fourth wave is going to spur a wholesale reevaluation of tactics through the introduction of new ships, upgrades, and pilots (like “Echo”) that emphasize high pilot skill and tactical maneuvering. We’ve seen the beginning of this shift in the final matches of our Assault at Imdaar Alpha preview events, and we’ll see even more of it once Wave IV arrives at retailers everywhere late next week!
My local gaming shop said next Tuesday ...
Guess I need to take the day off.

Because the whole point of preorder and faster than regular shipping was to get them ASAP. If i could have just walked into GS and picked them up (and gotten points on my card to boot) then I'd have just done that. Though at some point I will also buy some from them as well, I like to spread my dollars around so everyone gets a little sum' sum'. After all, gotta get a few Z-95s for Wingman.
So happy friends the end of a long journey comes to a close soon.
I sure am keen to get these...all of them have a nice place in my home!
