Hi everyone, i am new to the game and do not know which starter i should get. I am mainly looking for a deck that is fun and flexible, as i am not sure how serious i will be getting into the game.

Also, does the Akuma/Ryu Battle Pack come with the same cards as the Akuma starter deck and the Ryu starter deck? If not, which is a better deal? The battle pack or buying the two seperate decks?

Any advice would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Well, the Akuma/Ryu Battle Box is very sexy! However, the cards contained therein are no longer legal in today's Standard Format. Legacy, however..you're good to go.

I would look at picking up the new Ivy or Zi Mei from the new SoulCal or ShadowWar sets, respectively. Both play Aggro, so they're both relatively straight forward to build and play.

I go with either Siegfried or Yi Shan. They're both extremely balanced. While Siegfried is more counter-meta, Yi Shan has extremely well-stats'd attacks.

That said, the newer Akuma starter deck (not the battlepack) has some great cards and a very good control character, if you're into wrecking the opponent's game.

yeah its all about what you like to do in card games like this are you a control character then play akuma or even the old mai starter

if your into aggro then the new astrid deck or even the old sagat deck is good

if you hate control then go with siegfried hes amazing and countering control

Siegfried is playable right out of the box as an aggressive starter deck... The Yi-Shan mentioned before is the exact same way but it's kinda complicated with all the momentum based stuff that it has...
