How often do you fly based on fluff?

By Lord Ashram, in X-Wing

X-wing is great for having cards and rules that keep with the fluff. I dont play Attack Wing, but ive heard about the ridiculous lists you can make. I mean, I dont always put R2D2 with Luke, but I dont think Vader (crew) in a Firespray really appeals to me.

Or that would be Fett saying : ''This deal is getting worse all the time.''

Probably not. I don't see either of them agreeing to something like that.

Mara Jade on the other hand...

Now THAT could totally happen.

I just imagined Mara Jade on Kath Scarlet's Firespray.

Not exactly, though I have made my own fluff for all my ships. So I can fly whatever I want X)

I like to. All my lists have some sort of story in my head:

  • Black Squadron & Vader
  • 2 Royal Guard + Carnor Jax in 'super-interceptors'
  • Vader, Stele and a Tempest Squadron Pilot (TIE Fighter Zaarin Campaign force!)
  • Obsidian Squadron - Obsidians 1-7 is exactly 100 points
  • Gamma Squadron - 4 Gammas with payload is 100 points. Which is nice, because I and two of my friends have similar forces - we're waiting for an epic game where we can throw a complete bomber squadron at some Rebel Scum.

I'm really not a fan of mixing and matching ships and pilots together. It makes more sense for rebels, who did field mixed ship squadrons, but less so for the Empire.
