I agree, 2 on 2 is probably better. The problem is that this eats up 58pts, so the question is what to pair with it?

Again, you can , as some have said already. Definitely spread them out, though. You can even use your Predator reroll to force Gunner to trigger.
However, we don't know the dial of the Decimator. It may be quite clunky. The reason this could be an issue is that the targets have to be at Range 2 INSIDE your firiing arc. If you are only trying to hit ships in front of you, the Decimator could very well end up handling like the Shuttle. I feel like the Turret will be a big advantage, because it I would assume it doesn't handle terribly well. But, like I said, we haven't seen the dial, and it DOES have a Green 2-Bank.

I would try to fit more than one more ship, if possible. Maybe Two Academies and Dark Curse or Backstabber? Weak without a Howlrunner, I know, but I think it will net you more ground than just Firespray. Less attack and total HP, but more agility and more targets for your enemy.

Honestly, the worst part was the Total HP of the whole list. I ran a list with quite a bit, but I had to be super on my game to guarantee shots with my B-wings. I feel like one or two missed attempts along they way he may have beaten me. Give it a read, let me know what you think!

Fair enough. But this isn't a list build. It's a does this work. And yes, technically it does. But the Decimator is not the place for tactician anyway.
I think the interesting thing with this build is that if you cant get the stress through Tactician, you still have a hellish beast of destruction in the Decimator.
