Not on youtube...

By A1istor, in UFS General Discussion

This topic may have been brought up if so ignore... I am a person that loves to watch ccg matches on youtube. It is a simple way to learn the meta, get the feel for other strategies as well as its just fun to watch. There are tons of yu-gi-oh vids and even Magic the gathering. Why are there no UFS matches or even deck ideas on youtube. There is only one video of James vs. Goo at nationals which i enjoyed very much. I understand sometimes matches take forever but it still would be interesting. I thought this would be interesting to bring up. Opinions ideas?

I'd say it's because of the sheer amount of cards in play at any one time, UFS has one of the biggest staging area/backrow etc in any ccg, and each of those cards also does something as well as serving the purpose of the equivalent of mana generation as well. also the card pool is pretty unmatched too. Honestly there's just too much going on for Youtube to document it properly. It can deal with Yugioh as they have a limit to how many cards are in play at once, and with Magic since the backrow only serves the purpose of mana generation, UFS doesn't have that luxury.

Not only that, but the meta in it's entirety plays UFS with a misleading backrow, where you have one or two things that are up, and the rest in a huge pile of committal.

But that is a problem for another topic.

So the main problem is back row? What if little notations were shown throughout the match pointing out which foundation or E: is being used? That would make things less confusing.

You'd need someone able to do post-prod of that nature, and who can do it in a comprehensive manner.

Obvious answer is obvious: people just didn't. I don't know how many people carry video cameras around with them to card tournies, and anything of lesser quality, well, you wouldn't want to trouble the viewer's eyes (a la black bars, etc). I think it's a great idea, but you not only need consent of both players, but you need a way in which to record. I personally think Podcasts should be edited, and then placed on YouTube, that way it isn't a hubub of people clammoring for spoilers

I have seen random other AOP's/FOP's and the STG Staff tournament is up there too. if someone has a youtube account I have imported some UFS videos as MP4 and they can host them .

Why not make one yourself?
