Imperial HUGE Ships...I'm Calling It.

By Joe Boss Red Seven, in X-Wing

Guys, we didn't make it to 100 pages.... :(

Hold your Banthas there, nerfherders.

There is still another Imperial huge ship to call.

Always two there are, no more, no less.

This thread ain't dead until we say it's dead.

Yeah weren't Tantive and GR-75 separate announcement articles?

Yeah weren't Tantive and GR-75 separate announcement articles?

No they were both announced in the Assemble the Fleet article.

Ah right, forgot. It doesn't nix the possibility that they later announce the Goz. I feel a little hurt that after the single handedly longest thread on this forum, they didn't poke their nose in here and give us the reveal a few hours early. I console myself with the idea that so many elements of the product will be rooted here in the community. To be sure:

New Advanced packaged with a Huge, Community

Sensor slot on Advanced, Community

Make their own class ship for Epic, Community

DAT IMPERIAL GLORY!!!

Still can have the gozanti!

Yes and we will, to go with the Rebel Transport side of EPIC.

Alright, JBR7. What do you think of the Skinny Vigil?

I love it for many reasons.

:D

We get our first Imperial HUGE Ship, for one... and a lot of people have been waiting to see it. Epic will now be taken seriously.

;)

Now I can make what I want to without worrying about what FFG is going to do, because they just made it clear. The largest FFG Epic ships will all be made to fit into the Tantive-Raider box.

^_^

Yes, but it's clear that both the Lancer :( and the Vigil :P are out.

True... and now I can go crazy. I have been waiting to see what is gonna be what... for long enough I think.

:P

I am very happy today, on many levels my Star Brothers, and you all should be too.

:D

So we love the new Large Ships for Wave Five, and we have seen what FFG has done for the Alliance Huge Ships. I am calling the Imperial response, for fun, and because I think this is going to happen.

We are likely going to get an Imperial Gozanti Cruiser for the GR-75 Transport equivalent.

And an Imperial Vigil Corvette for the Tantive IV equivalent.

These ships are doable in the same way that FFG did the Alliance Huge ships.

What do you all think?

:)

Be careful with those brazen predictions. You have a pretty high bar to live up to.

I'm not sure you cleared the bar, Joe Boss. =P I guess the Vigil was somewhat close, though.

DAT...

Well none of us were right but I have to say I like it, it's wedged and looks aggressive the fact a tie advanced fix and new pilots come with is a really nice bonus I didn't predict.

We could still get a goz but I think it's more likely we'll get the classic transport.

Now the question is how many people will be turned off by that 100$ price tag on the Tie Advanced fix? But if it means more epic games will be played it might be worth it.

They starved her so that she would fit into what we now know will be the box for all of the EPIC Huge Ships.

So, anyone up for opening the thread "Scum HUGE ships...I'm calling it"?

Pretty happy about this. Gotta love the wedge shape!

Not super crazy about the solar panels, but I'm sure I'll get used to it (especially when I throw a huge chunk of money at it).

Oh no! I was right! I called they could make their own!....come to think of it. I remember I wasn't the only one either but I can't remeber who the other guy was that came up with the same idea. Hrm

Nah it will cost $65 tops...

;)

I am very happy to see that our FFG boys learned to put the alternates IN THE **** BOX from now on.

But dude, they are GIANT INTERCEPTOR WINGS !!!

So I have one new prediction....The Gozanti Releases...wait for it...with a Bomber Patch and bomber model

Ah-ha! You guys were all WRONG!

;)

You don't have to buy it day one you can always wait a few months for prices to drop, I paid £45 for my cr-90.

I'll probably fold and get it at release though as a primary imp player.

And I will back you up on that... at this point.

They are not wings! No ships in Star Wars use "wings" for maneuver or lift. They are collector panels, that work in concert with Sienar Systems ion engine design in order to provide reaction mass. In that capacity, a small(ish) capital ship like this one could very well use that same engine design in order to enhance its maneuverability, and these panels would be invaluable in saving space/tonnage that would otherwise be spent carrying fuel.

Yes, nerding out here.... lol

Does anyone know the length of the model of the Raider-class? What's our best guess?

Two other things about the Raider-claass:

  1. Does that prow look a bit too fragile? What's in there? It looks too short for a Stormtrooper to stand up in, even a short Strormtrooper. Is that the Ewok brig?
  2. "Raider" What's in a name? Well, it has the name of the very thing that it is supposed to fight against. Pirates raiding in the Outer Rim. Other Star Destroyer names evoke the might the Galactic Empire. Imperial-class. Victory-class.. Imperator. Executor. Allegiance.

Absolutely correct sir! But your missing the point! It's the glorious love child of an ISD and an Interceptor! You see when an Star Destroyer and a squint love each other very much the squint releases swarms of interceptors into the belly of the Star destroyer. Several months later, and many manhours of reassembly, a Raider Class ship emerges from the mother ship to take it's place in the big world. :D

It should be almost the same size exactly as the CR-90. It's on a 6x2 base, and is stated to be 150m so

It's a wedge, it's badass. I approve!

Who won the pool?
