If they can produce a reasonably sized Vigil and reasonably costed I agree they may listen but they would be silly to just listen to us as we are lets be frank the hardcore!
I can imagine the scene now...
"Sir, I've just returned from collecting the Lancer prototype from the sex store!"
"No, it's no good. Everyone on the forum is damanding the Vigil!"
"... Do they make door wedges that big?!?"
Miniatures Market has had them as a Pre-orde r for a year now... and they are not on the GF9 site at all... that I have seen since they announced the **** things in 2013.

Nah FFG made some phone calls, cause they are doing it... gottah be.

Hmmm...
"In stock - 40 available to ship."
Available in the UK but not the US, maybe? I know GF9 released some terrain in Europe but not in the US before (Gothic Ruined Somethingorothers were released regionally)
Yes, Europe seems to get that terrain first! So we have to wait!
Ive painted it:

What you didnt notice is that behind it there is another one
I bought the two kinds of Gozanti cruisers (the imperial and the normal version) and Shapeways by mistake sent me two imperial Gozanti cruisers. They are sending me now the normal Gozanti but.... I have two imperial Gozantis

If it looks like you are going to have 1 extra, might I suggest the Big X-wing trade thread? That seems a popular avenue for dispensing of x-wing duplicate materials...
Nah, I think the two imperial Gozantis will do great against my Nebulon B.

Edited by PlainsmanWith my estimation at bases? the fighter and large ship are scale the cr-90 i guessed at since i don't have one yet.

The imp's ship needs to be -bigger-
The customs corvette would need some clear plastic or something bridging the gap between the front forks so the base peg can fit
Three bases, three pegs, one placed normally, two sideways. Problem solved.
Vigil corvette would have three sections, three actions: Fore, Port, Starboard. Mmmm, can you smell the pwnage? That would give Epic an ISD "feel". Go slow, generate a crapton of energy, fire all batteries!
Or even four sections, if you're up for it. Just imagine a cross.
Looking at the T-bar the crossed section would have to be wider a bit. enough so that there wouldn't be a notch in each side of the template for the lip of the back bases. And any run a fighter makes on it would kill the fighter as the Vigil moves thanks to the footprint at the back. Plus when it moves at bank speeds the fishtail effect would be ridiculous. And if you put the maneuver template off of the back section bases for banks that might fix it but still might then move too 'fast'.

Yeah the vigil is a work in progress going to do some experimenting later. The fishtailing is going to happen with any wide ship. Players will just have adjust their strategy to it. The huge ships don't have that many movement options so its not like its impossible to predict where the big girl's gona shake her booty.
It's unfortunate that the Gozanti and the Lancer are not being imaged for relative size. That would be the most sure-fire way to see how the Vigil (while cool-looking), is much less plausible as an inclusion into this game.
Size matters... but then in the opposite direction.
If they come out with the Vigil, I think it's going to be skinnier. That's why it's not pictured in the RPG book.

I think it would look better with a little Weight Watchers. It would also be able to fit in a smaller package.
Of course, it would be 5 seconds after FFG's announcement that there would be a thread complaining about its proportionality.
Edited by Mikael HasselsteinI think an irregular base layout such as the T-base would probably cause too many issues, say with movement. I think I have a solution to the base issue that is less of a change from the current huge ships, and more likely to work within the epic framework...
If we first of all look at our current huge ships, they currently come as 2 plastic bases linked by a cardboard base. This method allows FFG to control the length of the overall base, but the width of the base is fixed.
Now, imagine 4 plastic bases, each defining the corner of a rectangle. The minimum width of such a base would be double that of the current huge ships, but beyond that FFG would be able to create any sized base they want.
So, for that Vigil, try a base size twice the width of a CR-90, and maybe 1.5x longer. I bet that will look perfect
I could live with this!

I'll be in my bunk...
Who is making this? I LIKE!
Cruising around wookiepedia, there is a bayonet class light cruiser at 200m. I haven't see it mentioned yet. An image of one is here:
http://img.swcombine.com/ships/125/large.jpg
Not as nice looking as the vigil, but may be more manageable.
I am digging the bayonet. Seems like a good alternative.
Now we're talking! I've been following this thread and have been waiting for someone to find some triangle-shaped cruisers at a comfortable scale. This has me excited. Good work, folks!
Dude, Bayonet looks sweet. I could put a Twilek version of Bayonetta decal on the hull too! ;
If they Truly wanted to do the Vigil on a larger base you probably still couldn't get away with four corner bases since you'd end up with pretty big notches down the middle coming in from the sides. And then more importantly, in order to fly through it even if you started touching it's base somehow not dead, your ship would have to pull a 5-straight to go accross just it's width, so any attack run always would come out as a kamikaze death. as it just rolls into you or away. Fishtailing is just killing the idea. As much as I desperately hoped it wouldn't.
Now maybe you could get away with a brand new base size that's 3x3 but even that needs a fairly dangerous approach vector. I think we're stuck leaving it out.
Here is my plan for my vigils t-style base: (if its needed)
The pink squares are the large ship stands and the red is the bridging cardboard there's going to be a cut into the middle back part of the cardboard to account for the lip on the two bases stuck together.
Yes it fish tails all the large ships do. Ill be testing it out abit more and see how it works out.
It may even need a different movement movement template.

The cardboard might have that shape, but why do you think it needs two bases in the back? Seems like an unnecessary expense.
I think it'll only have two bases total. One in the front and one in the back.
