Imperial HUGE Ships...I'm Calling It.

Happy 1500 posts day?! Make a wish and blow out the candles.

Gabe no offense but do you even know what you're posting anymore.

Do you have any idea what this is.

What time period it is from.

Or did it just look cool.

Man that just looks cool, that's all its gotta do.

I idea here is to keep each other company and be informative and funny... part of that is to suggest researched ships that might actually fit into the game in both form and function.

Gabe and others have not been great at that last part... they are in their own fanboy-nerd-world.

It is fun, but not functional... at all.

The facts are clear:

Gozaanti, Vigil, Lancer, Nebulan B, Customs Corvette, and a few less know ships in the same scale are the only sexy-imperial -space-babies that we will ever see in EPIC. They might do an alternate Imperial Tantive too... anything else is unlikely, or will be something made up by FFG to fit.

I am cool with all of this, but the space-dong is my least favorite option.

I just wished they would make the announcement already.

Maybe they go to something different that is still EPIC. Like a Star destroyer mat with turbolaser turrets and a bridge, or a static space station. That would give the imperials something epic and at the same time incorporate something new to the game.

Or something different, maybe a pack of 7 TIE droids (for example) that work as a hive mind and bring something interesting to the swarm concept.

You know, something that is not just a ship for the empire.

I like the idea of the Gozanti a lot. My question is about its size, since Wookipedia has it at under 50m, while the GR-75 is about 90. Do you think they would scale it up? Honestly, I feel like it looks bigger than the given size.

A six foot mat maybe with a 1:500 scale victory class star destroyer printed on it with model turrets and bridge would be pretty epic i think. (but maybe not as epic as the HK Probot)

Dont listen to the wiki it lies! the imperial version is something like 64m-ish there was a big thread about it a while back.

Currently in the poll:

Vigil ... 51 votes

Gonz ... 45 votes

Lancer ... 18 votes

Neb b2 ... 13 votes

escort carrier ... 10 votes

So far the poll has been up for abit over a day but its already showing quite a lead on the Vigil and Gonzanti

Sign me up for them Turbo Lasers...

:)

I think they are doing that very thing, which is why the GF9 terrain stuff has never been released.

The NebBie is a thing too, because FFG would make it with a very easy snap into place center cross bar. The thing could be done in three pieces and fit into a nice box that would not be much larger than their Tantive Expansion set.

If not then MEL gets an order from me at some point.

:D

You can count on it being in the game.

Interestingly, I received an email from the ever-reliable Wayland Games ( ) the other day saying they'd put the GF9 turbolasers on sale for Cyber Monday... I never looked any further than that, but I assumed if they were on sale, they had stock...

Yup, a three-piece snap fit Nebulon B kit (main hull, connecting spar, engine block) would seem like an easy win for FFG - it's an iconic ship (albeit in a Rebel capacity) from the Original Trilogy, after all. Multi-part (IF they decided to go down that route) would save on packaging too.

I think if ffg goes the 300m neb b it will be for the rebs. so i kinda ignored it for the poll. The neb b2 is 250m this one:

I just realised that there might be some confusion there. Dunno the poll's mostly a curiosity.

Miniatures Market has had them as a Pre-order for a year now... and they are not on the GF9 site at all... that I have seen since they announced the **** things in 2013.

Nah FFG made some phone calls, cause they are doing it... gottah be.

Hmmm...

"In stock - 40 available to ship."

Available in the UK but not the US, maybe? I know GF9 released some terrain in Europe but not in the US before (Gothic Ruined Somethingorothers were released regionally)

Officially, the imperial gozanti is 63.8 metres in length. The gr-75 is made smaller, look at the command pod on the top, compared to the fighters no one could fit in it. The Gozanti would be the same scale as fighters.

If they wanted to have or represent TIE's carried on the Gozanti like in Rebels, they'd HAVE to do it at 1/270 scale, otherwise it would look... odd.

I think that's probably the only issue with the Gozanti (for want of a better word).

Okay dat proves it. FFG allowed them to make a little overseas release, to recoup their cost, because the big bad world release is coming still.

Here is the other thing. That image in white... I made that myself for my blog post in 2013. Why would they use my image on their site to promote their products? I do not work for GF9! I made the image from screen captures from their little HD promo video they had out around x-mass 2013.

Nah... it is a limited release swept under the rug, (which IS why I did not know about it until you pointed to that little site) after FFG called their asses up...LOL!

It looks like Space Station Lasers is scheduled to be released this month in the US.

You won't get your Scum. And certainly not your Imperial Huge Ship. But you can get non-FFG lasers.

Pew, pew. Pew, pew, pew.

That Ion cannon.... now all the Lancer fans can buy two to go with each ship! :D

I had no idea that basic marketing involving the most recent and nigh flagship imperial vessel in the most recent TV series needed explanation.
