Imperial HUGE Ships...I'm Calling It.

By Joe Boss Red Seven, in X-Wing

I really don't know why anyone thinks that the Vigil is at all likely. It's a fan-made ship that happened to appear in the background of one picture in one book, and hasn't been used anywhere else. The fact that some random guy made a really nice model of it doesn't make it an important ship in the official universe.

I recognize the words you're using individually, but the order you've put them just makes no sense to me. :P

Thank you for not suggesting the Space Dong or Little Space Dong, though.

I actually thought of doing something simillar for the nursery room window on the Nebulon B frigate :D I think it would be fun if you could see Luke and Leia there.

That would be cool!

I bring you the Action IV transport. Which is going to be my beautiful Scum and Villainy Huge Ship :)

And my Nebulon B frigate, with the new stands:

Now that is going to be **** fine once you get everything painted up!

:)

Great stuff Mel!

So we love the new Large Ships for Wave Five, and we have seen what FFG has done for the Alliance Huge Ships. I am calling the Imperial response, for fun, and because I think this is going to happen.

We are likely going to get an Imperial Gozanti Cruiser for the GR-75 Transport equivalent.

And an Imperial Vigil Corvette for the Tantive IV equivalent.

These ships are doable in the same way that FFG did the Alliance Huge ships. My wager is on them releasing the Vigil, and only the Vigil.

What do you all think?

:)

My wager is on them releasing the Vigil, and only the Vigil.

What the heck? Are we really talking about Imperial Huge Ships?

I hope that the Imperial huge comes with two blue TIE Fighters! The art from Intimidation gives me hope.

Victory-2 Frigate from Battlefront 2 first is my secret hope. I want all of them eventually except Nebulon B, I want my fleet of those to be in Armada. With Scum out I imagine the Wild Karde Action IV to happen. I'm also wondering about multi-faction possibility for many future Epics.

Side note: Wouldn't It be funny if the Gozanti was just like the transport with no guns but was equipped with four academy pilots instead. That thought amuses me somewhat. :P

The Visual Guide lists the Imperial Gozanti as a Freighter.

Look what I found lying on Page 3.

Yes, this poor thread.

Who's responsible for neglecting this thread and letting it get buried in a sea of mediocre discussions?

All of us...

Sorry, I've been following a different thread on LED lighting, while trying to stick little 3v lights in my Firespray.

I am pretty sure I hate tiny fiddly lights and wires now. Why don't we play this game with 1/35 scale models in large rooms?

MOBQUET!

GOZANTI!

NEBULON B!

BFF-1!

STAR DESTROYAH!

...........that is all.

Regarding Gozanti variants ... I hit the book store today and ran across the "Visual Guide" to the new Rebels TV series in the kiddie section. I can't find any legit images handily available on the internet to cross-link to (and I figure that my SCANNING an image from a book would be patently illegal) but I found it interesting that there was mention of the "Broken Horn," a variant on the "C-ROC Gozanti-class Cruiser," used by the Broken Horn crime syndicate on Lothal.

Roughly speaking, the design adds the sort of "snowplow" scoop on the front that is reminiscent of Jabba's skiffs and yacht from "Return of the Jedi," and also of his luxury space yacht, and then "soups up" the engines by apparently doubling up the ion engines on the sides and then adding another one up top for overkill, with external cargo pod racks running along a "shelf" on each side. Annnnd ... that's pretty much useless for communicating what it actually looks like, I suppose, compared to what a PICTURE would accomplish, but I'm hoping at some point it'll pop up. It seems to me that it'd work nicely as the "Scum & Villainy" version of the ship, if the Empire gets the "Imperial Refit," and if the default version would work best for the Rebel Alliance.

To add to the visual guide.

The Broken Horn was almost 130 meters long.

There was another freighter 84 meters long.

The Imperial Gonzati is almost 74 meters long; just in line with the transport.

It also shows that the inquisitor pilots a TIE Advanced.

So like others have mentioned these two will be paired together.

Is it actually a TIE advanced? His looks like it has foldy-joints on the panel:

Admittedly, it does look pretty weaksauce with the panels folded in.

Well I don't own the book but the image in it looked more like the classic tie advanced.

As to the photo you posted, do those wings fold out? Plus the solar panels are on the inside?

Edit: I remember reading specifically Tie Advanced.

All the references to it so far that I've seen call it a "TIE Advanced" or "The Inquisitor's TIE Advanced." It's most certainly NOT the same as Darth Vader's TIE fighter, though the thicker wing struts suggest some similar design elements (other than the obvious core TIE elements). I suppose the use here of "TIE Advanced" would be in the most generic sense (might as well be called "TIE Prototype" or "TIE Custom" or "TIE Variant"), just as there were several iterations of "TIE Advanced" in the Legends/EU.

I'm guessing they're trying to combine visual elements of Darth Vader's TIE fighter with the folding wings of the Star Cruiser / Scimitar / Sith Infiltrator -- and that the wings are folding for landing purposes only, not for any sort of "super combat mode" or such.

Possibly a new model, but a title card that can be used for both wave 1 Tie advanced and the inquisitors tie. It appears from the Gencon interview the solution for the tie advanced will be a title card.

The Inquisitor's TIE Advanced is v1.

Darth Vader's TIE Advanced is x1.

But vaders ship was specially made for him to his specifications, they never went into production until the avenger was perfected.

How's this inquisitor got one? Is it a reject version left over from the R&D?

His is clearly a lighter duty TIE Advanced. In regards to specifications... It's like the Millennium Falcon.

It's a YT-1300 model, sure, but it's so different and personalized, it might as well not really be one.

Someone earlier mentioned the possibility of the TIE/Adv getting bundled with the Gozanti and getting the new mods/upgrades to make it usable again. Actually I think it's been mentioned a couple times. Good call guys

That was me. In the same thread I mentioned how the Ghost would be bundled with The Phantom. It just makes sense from a marketing standpoint.

I do like the design of the Ghost (sans the dumb little ship that is inside it that was solely created to sell toys).

Ghost itself is pretty cool, but my god, seeing that pissed me right off. It looks dumb, the fact that a ship barely larger than a YT-1300 has a "shuttle" that big is dumb (good bye any cargo space...); I just can't bring myself to like it.

I concede it's kinda' silly. But seeing The Ghost without it would be hard to imagine.

Here's a crazy concept though. What if The Ghost came with The Phantom, and The Gozanti came with the TIE Starfighter? That'd be interesting.

I don't think packaging the fix for the Advanced with the epic ship is a good idea, since people could need up to four of the title card that is supposed to rebalance it.
