So we love the new Large Ships for Wave Five, and we have seen what FFG has done for the Alliance Huge Ships. I am calling the Imperial response, for fun, and because I think this is going to happen.

We are likely going to get an Imperial Gozanti Cruiser for the GR-75 Transport equivalent.

And an Imperial Vigil Corvette for the Tantive IV equivalent.

These ships are doable in the same way that FFG did the Alliance Huge ships.

What do you all think?

I'm surprised no one has considered the Victory II class frigate from Battlefront II. I think it would make more sense than the Vigil and is close to the same length as the CR-90.

On a serious note, I've always been in favour of the more popular suggestions. Gozanti should be a no-brainer, and I think everyone knows that. For bigger, I'm also going with the masses and voting Vigil or Lancer.

Actually, I just wanted to mention the Lancer again because I want one. Who cares if it looks like something I won't mention on these forums? I have always liked the look of it. And not for any less-than-kosher reasons, thank you. It looks like how I'd imagine a space warship should.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Generally I get my forum fix on DakkaDakka but decided to stretch a bit deeper into the community.

Over on dakka I've been preaching the Victory-2 Frigate for a while and a kind gentleman I met at Gen-Con was also thinking the same. Gozanti cruiser is a good choice I suppose but it's meh looking. But so is the GR-75 so whoopee, right? Actually the Gozanti is growing on me. The other possibility is the Mobquet Medium Transport that Dash Rendar raided in the Shadows of the Empire game on N64. But that's probably less likely sadly.(Unless they make another wave of Epic after the first!) I had never heard of the Vigil corvette but that would be absolutely fine by me, but my heart is still somewhat set on the Vic-2. I think the wings on it make it look more menacing personally. It wouldn't be too much bother to have them detachable for storage.

Everyone talks about epic being dead, and the huge ships never getting played.

I bet they would if there were imp ships to fly against them. Point values or not, it just seems like it's not an even fight without it.

Even though from what I've heard, most epic fights with huge ships go the Imps' way.

I'm extremely disappointed that it's been 8 hours and we're still on pg. 40.

This thread is like a lightning rod for all the newcomers who want to come and say something on the matter. Here you go - here is the thread that talks about it.

I, for one, am happy to keep on talking about the Nebulon, seeing the developing models or paints of the 3d printer version that is out there. I think that it's totally awesome. If I were 1) less financially responsible, and 2) in possession of more time to play, I would totally get one and urge people to play the Nebulon B that Mel has available.

Also, I think it'd be fun to really get in depth on the Gozanti and guess what the FFG version is going to be rules-wise. That's what this thread can be/is about. And I'm perfectly fine with that.

Anyway, let's call it on the new subject: when one will be announced.

Just bring up how Karen Traviss is a terrible author and he'll be posting in here just as much as anybody else. I'm not sure how to connect it to huge ships, but I'm sure there must have been a few big ones in those books somewhere.
