Imperial HUGE Ships...I'm Calling It.

Hmmm...

What if...

They don't produce an Imperial huge.

What if the Decimator is all we're going to get?

Buy two (you will need it for the cards anyway) and glue them together

Actually im wondering if i should bother making my Assassin Corvette variant. If i think about it then it seems to me like a good choice for FFG and i dont want to end up having to remove it right after i make it like i had to do with my Defender and Phantom *L*
It would be compaible with the Corellian Corvette power wise. They already have a good chunk of the design done just by doing the Tantive and it really is one of the only Imperial ships that fits in the scale.

Yes the Vigil would be groovy but it is also a lot bigger than the Corvette, and the wedge would take up a lot of space. The Carrack and Lancer at 350 and 250 mtrs would also be too big unless they want to introduce yet another scale into the game. The only other ship that springs to mind easily is the DP20 which would fit in the scale but is just not a very interesting ship (personal opinion)

Hush up with that trash talk you!

Seriously, are we going to go a whole 24 hours and not talk about the next Imperial Huge Ship?

Uh... uh... Gozanti as the transport stand in, Customs Corvette as the biggy.

What hasn't been brought up yet is: Epic allows 5 "Epic Points," with the transport being 2 and the corvette 3. I have this weird feeling the Empire's first wave will be 1 and 4EP ships. (Though if this were an option I can't imagine what would come in at 1 if the transport is 2). This seems to fit the Imperial Doctrine of "swarm" or "super massive mega death ray."

A 4 Pointer... huh?

Maybe you don't get to use that fifth point at all, when you have the four.

They have proven they are not to be trusted and are liable to make anything... so yeah maybe hold off on it Brother Funky.

I stopped making my huge conversions because of this stuff, and now our boy Bolda is even selling off his Customs Corvette.

NOPE...

:)

Probably the best decision. wonder of any of the scratch builders could use an 8 thruster corellian engine block *L*

Well. Ive been promising to put R2 units in my Miytil fighters so i guess i have time to do so now

Gosric, what on earth is that *L* thing you always put in your messages?

The problem with this theory is the team epic rules. Team epic gives each player 3 epic points for ships. If one of the imperial ships is 4 (or 5) EPs it wouldn't be eligible for play in the team epic rules, and I don't think FFG would do that.

You get to spend 5 Epic Points total but each team epic player gets 3. So basically you and your teammate have to decide who is going to use the BIG 3 pointer in the game. I agree, they would not have a 4 point Epic ship choice, because it goes against the way the game is conducted. Epic Ships will be 3 or less points each unless FFG changes the rules to accommodate a new ship.

As long as we get something that allows for the use of Admiral Daala, I'll be happy. She is by far my favorite Imperial commander. Don't know if she had any kind of fighter, shuttle, or corvette of her own? I just know all the ISDs she commanded.

Pretty sure the consensus is that each player in a team epic game can field a corvette.

I was thinking if you and I played as a team say on the same force. Then we would have to decide. I may be wrong on this as I have not been to any tournaments.

But what if it's true?

While I see people buying the CR-90s and GR-75s in my local scene - and I'm sorely tempted to get a CR-90 too (I did get the GR-75) - I don't know what the macro-level outcome of the GR-75/CR-90 production has been. I can imagine that overall they have relatively little game utility given the prevalence of the 6-A-100pnt-DM. Frankly, I think they made a mistake saying that huge ships were for epic matches only in the (semi-)official events. But anyway, it wouldn't surprise me if their development of huge/epic rules took more development and production cost for too little profit - at the macro level.

They might not want to chase bad money with good, but not actually inform us so as to not depress current sales of huge ships.

That said, if they do come out with an Imperial Huge, my desire to have a CR-90 is probably going to diminish.

Yes!

I Can!

You are being a negative poop today!

Dammit be happy!

:D

The GR-75 sold out like hotcakes, and FFG has already made the BIG Impie.

Now on a more serious note.

;)

The Huge ships are at the printers being reprinted... that means they ARE selling fine.
