Imperial HUGE Ships...I'm Calling It.

By Joe Boss Red Seven, in X-Wing

Eh, you can keep your third faction stuff. I want my Gunboats and TIE Avengers NOW!

And I'd almost bet money that half the community wants them soon too. Don't waste our time with dull Star Wars Galaxies fighters.

oh sorry mad bro, here have some tea and a cookie. id like to see all the other xtrillion tie variants aswell just sayin. my loyalty for the empire is unshakable but having a third faction gives this game a new thril, a new enemy to face and crush with our imperial superiority think of that first. HOW DARE U TO CALL URSELF A FLEET OFFICER HM ?!!! ok enough roleplay in the capslock part. just sayin leave people thier opinion theres no need to diminish someones desire or opinion on something thx k bye ;P

edit: if they do make a third faction u have to tell me ur address where ure living so i can meet and laugh ya straight into da face ^^

YUP.

Given FFG have used the Lancer in Age of Rebellion it is (sadly) more likely to turn up than the Tartan.

Yeah but I am pretty sure that they will make it look cool, and less... um, er... adult entertainment'ishy.

Is there a reason FFG could not come up with a imperial wedge shaped ship the size of the corvette seeing as that'd be the most recognizable shape and nothing around really fits the size?

Only FFG and Disney/Lucasfilm could answer that question for sure.

Just a suggestion with everyone looking for something that fits the intended spot of imperial huge ship in available EU ships. Most logical choice would be the assassin corvette or just an imperial release of the CR90 with imperial cards but seeing the imperial wedge on the board does sound good.

Regrettably, due to the Assassin's pedigree from an early 90s video game, the visuals are somewhat challenged. That thing is just too boxy.

On the other hand, there is some better art out there, ie.:

But I find an Imperial version of the CEC corvette a bit of a cop out, if FFG were to go that route. I'm confident that they'll come up with something more compelling.

It's going to be the Vigil.

It went from Fanom to Canon to the Age of Rebellion rulebook.

I'm willing to wager on it.

It's been canon according to LFL since the Essential Guide to Warfare was published in 2012, so Age of Rebellion doesn't actually change anything. (Although the new book does at least arguably rescue it from Legends status, so there's that.)

But if I were you, I'd keep that wager small. Even in a sliding scale, it would be enormous and expensive, and at least the existing art makes its width-to-length ratio pretty large--much larger than the Corvette or Transport, and possibly large enough to create stability problems on the tabletop.

Ditto!

The response I expect when FFG finally makes their announcement and none of these pet favorites are included:

Or when they find out it's not the Vigil:

I will be very happy with any of the likely candidates.

:D

I have no idea what you're talking about. That is an engineering masterpiece.

You know exactly what I mean. You can read.

;)

As for the ship that I do not want to see from FFG, I knew you would like it...

It is a well done model.

That's gorgeous. But... what is it? Far too big for a Deff Kopta, too small of a base for a fighta-bomba.. Still, I want to own it.

...Heheh. Not bad.

I feel bad for anatomy students if you need to have one in your mouth before you can tell what it looks like.

This is fun... and funny.

:)

Seriously, are we going to go a whole 24 hours and not talk about the next Imperial Huge Ship?

Uh... uh... Gozanti as the transport stand in, Customs Corvette as the biggy.

What hasn't been brought up yet is: Epic allows 5 "Epic Points," with the transport being 2 and the corvette 3. I have this weird feeling the Empire's first wave will be 1 and 4EP ships. (Though if this were an option I can't imagine what would come in at 1 if the transport is 2). This seems to fit the Imperial Doctrine of "swarm" or "super massive mega death ray."
