X-Wing Miniatures Inventory Program

By any2cards, in X-Wing

Such a cool program, thanks for putting it together.

This might be a dumb question, but besides typing everything in again, is there a way to import data from older versions?

Thanks!

Not a dumb question. I ask myself this each and every time I update the **** thing. :P

For now, I just re-enter the data. I am giving some thought to this, however.

In addition, I just got my new Force Awakens Core Set, so I should be updating the spreadsheet for that, the new color bases, etc.

Added support for Force Awakens Core Set.

See the original post for the current updates, as well as a link to the program.

Thank you any2cards.

I don't know if it was intentional or not but the cells for the new stuff are still locked. Please can you unlock them so I can get an idea of how much to save for.

once again Thank you

I just downloaded the latest version and you have Proximity Mines on TIE Bombers. Aren't they with IG-2000 and FireSpray?

I am not sure what you are looking at. On my spreadsheet, Proximity Mines only show up for IG-2000 and Firespray, and not the TIE Bomber.

EDIT: Just to make sure that the latest version is located at my DropBox (link in the OP), I updated it to reflect a Version # in the title bar on the Purchases tab. It should say Version 16.

I must have looked at it wrong. Oops

any2cards - thanks, this is an awesome resource! Very well done!

This morning, I woke up to find a whole slew of questions and one error concerning this spreadsheet. In an attempt to provide a central location for the answers, I am placing them here.

Until yesterday, no version of the spreadsheet ever had a version number in it. Due to some other issues, I added a version number in the title bar of the purchase page. This way, if you have an issue, you can reference that version number, and I will know specifically what you are looking at, and if it is indeed the latest version. Yesterday, when I did this, the version was 16.0.

This morning, I had to make a change due to an error on my part. Forum member Jozazmaj noticed an error with the number of shield tokens that Imperial Aces was reporting. It was showing 7 when it should have been 2. Surprised that no one else had ever caught this. I updated the spreadsheet to version 16.1 and made the correction.

In the future, all minor changes like this will receive a .# release. A major wave release will always have a #.0 release.

One other thing. Many forum members have noted that the Purchases tab shows Wave 8 ships, Imperial Huge 2, and Colored Bases, but does not allow them to enter numbers for them. This was done on purpose. In the past, I would update the spreadsheet as spoiler information became available, etc. Unfortunately, this ended up causing major headaches as users did not know what was complete information, there were spoiler errors, incomplete information was provided, etc. This in turn caused many to contact me stating that there were errors, etc.

I decided to save us all grief that I would not allow entries for unreleased items. In fact, I do not update the spreadsheet until I have the items in my hand and can personally verify the contents. Since I usually buy a minimum of 2 of everything, and do so prior to they even become available, I usually have them first thing upon release, so the spreadsheet should be updated "on time".

One other thing ... if there are errors in the spreadsheet, such as the one Jozazmaj found above, please let me know. It has been so long since I obtained Imperial Aces that I can't verify the mistake myself. I rely on all of you, and also attempt to verify via on-line sources.

I am gratified that so many have found this of use. It started simply as something to aid me in keeping track of all of my stuff, and to do so in an off-line manner. I am a bit meticulous (some may say anal or OCD :D ) when it comes to maintaining my games, and making sure I have everything I should.

Somehow, I decided to become motivated this morning :P

I addressed a long list of corrections, modifications, additions, requests, etc. to the spreadsheet. It has been updated to the DropBox site (see OP for link). It is now Version 16.2.

Included in these changes are the following:

  1. Several minor corrections (misspellings, standardization of naming convention, etc.)
  2. I added alternative ship names in parentheses as appropriate
  3. I added a "dot" unique identifier for all ship tokens, pilots, and upgrade cards that are unique
  4. Rearranged some tabs to make more "linear" sense (at least to me :D )
  5. Added a tab and information for all Damage Decks in the game
  6. Added a tab and information for all Missions in the game
  7. All of the above corrections, modifications, and additions are appropriately reflected on the Print tab

Enjoy.

Could you put the version number in the file name?

Due to several requests, this morning, I made the following changes:

I have modified the DropBox link in the OP above so that it points to a folder, rather than to the spreadsheet.

In addition, inside the folder, there are now 2 files (spreadsheets). One is called X-Wing Miniatures Inventory ##.# 2000.xls. The ##.# is the version of the spreadsheet. The 2000 and .xls file extension indicates that it is a spreadsheet that can be used by versions of Excel 97-2003. Please note that this spreadsheet was saved in compatibility mode by Excel 2007. It stated that it "may" have lost some fidelity in doing so. I do not have an earlier version of Excel, so I cannot fully test it. It does look correct, and I am not really making use of any esoteric features of Excel, so it should work.

The second file is called X-Wings Miniatures Inventory ##.#.xlsx (the original file). Once again, the ##.# is the version of the spreadsheet. And the .xlsx file extension indicates that it is a spreadsheet that can be used by version of Excel 2007-2013.

Added ability to track Rebel, Imperial, & Scum Maneuver Dial Upgrade Kits. Changed version to 16.3. Link to files in original post above. Note that until they actually become available, the ability to enter data for them is currently turned off.

Is there a way to manually adjust certain things?
I recently bought a collection and it contained (among others) 1 core set, + 1 x-wing from a core-set and 3 Tie-fighter's from a core-set, but without the extra dice/movement tools

Currently, no. The reason the auto-generated pages are "locked", is because when I first did this, they weren't, and mistakes were made ... :P

Basically, people would accidentally change a calculation, or whatever, and the results would be wrong. It caused both of us grief. Since then, I protect the pages to prevent this from happening.

is there anyway to add a box for a discount percentage so you can manually enter the discount that you get on ships. not one for each individual ship but just for the total, i get a different discount than what you have in the formulas. thanks

I cant enter any data from Imperial Assault carrier on.

Can you unlock the rest of sheet so I can utilize it?

He'll update it as soon as he's received and inventoried his copy of the new expansion. (I've asked this question before).

Makes sense thanks.

Hi all ...

As rhs2042 noted above, I will unlock the cells for the Imperial Assault Carrier, the T-70 Expansion, and the TIE/FO expansion as soon as I get them (which is suppose to be right after XMas).

For those not in the know, I do this because I want to actually inventory the contents and make sure that everything entered is correct. In the past I have received erroneous information and/or visited web sites, announcements, videos, etc. that have also been wrong.

This in turn leads to double work, others pointing out errors, confusion, etc.

Now, I am far, far from perfect, so sometimes I also make mistakes. But at least then, they are mine, I own them, and they are easily corrected. :P

As for allowing a percentage discount field, to allow custom percentages, this can certainly be done. I will attempt to make those modifications when I add the above info.

I have posted new files to the DropBox (whose link can be found in the OP above).

The version of the files is now 17.0.

Added Imperial Huge 2: Gozanti-Class Cruiser (Imperial Assault Carrier) Exp

Added Wave 8 Part 1: T-70 X-Wing, TIE/FO Exp

Not sure yet what I am going to do with the request for a custom discount percentage. Struggled with this today. It adds all kinds of complexity to the spreadsheet which I would rather avoid. Still cogitating on it.

Please let me know if you find any errors.

Found something on the current down load.

If you list 2 x TFA Core and 2 x T-70 Expansions.

The Print Tab shows only 2 x T-70 Ships and Dials

The Totals Tab shows 4 x T-70

See above post ^

P.S. The Resistance Ship Tokens tabs only shows 2 also.

I will take a look at this today. Thanks.

Ok. I found the error. It is amazing what happens when you miss a single "$" in Excel.

I have updated the spreadsheet to version 17.1 and will post it shortly.
