Lol. So you just give up when someone comes to the table with a falcon and expert handling attached?Ya. There was definitely a mix-up here. MJs house rules make sense (except maybe—MAYBE—Horton) and aren't really breaking the game in any way or giving one side a huge advantage. TBH Rebelarch (and please don't take this the wrong way, this is just the way it seems to me) I can't see why anyone would have any fun flying the Empire against the house rules you made here.Well then I apologize as I thought that it was you who were using those house rulesHowever you mentioned something a few pages back about giving xwings an advantage over tie fighters cause yout feel that ties should be one shooted.
Giving the Falcon the barrel roll action without having to equip expert handling?
All because it fits in with that movies better?
Plus I believe it was you who also said you were going to make it a house rule that if someone uses the Phantom either it gets one less attack dice, or the defender gets one extra evade?
That to me sounds pretty broken
Plus ties can easily get one shooted without having to modify any existing rules, and the rebellion was always at odds with the empire as they were out gunned, out manned, and technologically behind the empire.
They resorted to stealing tech and hit and run tactics.
Plus xwings were not indestructible by any means. They had shields which gave them a little extra durability
I didn't suggest any of those.
That is my bad
Guess I got your and another mixed up.
If they have expert handling then they cannot equip anything in their elite slot and that's a couple more points that they can no longer spend on something else.
It's called game balance. Something your rules to like to break.
"oh wait tie fighters should die easily to xwing let's give xwings 4 attack dice, and one evade to tie fighters "
Is that how you make up your rules?
So someone in your group thought the Falcon should barrel roll so hey let's include it.
Why not have it so all ships can use upgrades free of charge. Bombers can have 3 bombs. The slave can have both heavy lasers and auto blasters, along with proton torpedoes, and bombs.
I don't like the Phantom. Let's decrease its attack dice to three. Hell why not two.
I really don't know how you can even enjoy winning a game. House rules or not, your rules are broken, one sided and if it was me, I'd feel like I was cheating.
So when you add actions to a ship, and add or subtract dice values, do you adjust every ship so that everything is balanced?
Or
" hey I don't like this. X wing should be faster".
"Ya let's add a 5 straight to its dial, and give it a boost and barrel roll action"
"Well since it's an xwing I think all pilots should be able to do two actions instead of one "
Great I idea "
"oh wait. Tie fighters shouldnt have three evades when fighting an xwing. They always get one shot in that movies"
"ya your right. One evade should be enough "
You play how your want. Your rules your house. I just hope you don't teach new players your "house rules " before teaching them the real rules.
I also hope the rest in your group don't try to teach new players the house rules way before the real rules.
Do how yout want.
I'm just glad it's not forced upon me
I like my game balanced, and fair
