Well, it's bigger than any other large base ship. It costs more to make and paint all that plastic.

FFG brings out the goods and I trust the price will be correct.

Nice.. Seeing as my local FLGS marks prices up slightly, I may just order online this time around..

I hope they have them on display this weekend at the Regionals. I want to see just how big the physical model of the Decimator is.

It doesn't look much bigger than the falcon to me, based on the size of the base it is sitting on

Yeah, me too.

I don't understand the price bump. I'm hoping that goes back down before release.

It sounds big. Significantly bigger than any other large ship. We need to see it in person to be sure, but I'm sure it will be quite obvious why it costs more.

Its like wondering why the Transport & Tantive have different price points. I mean, they're both Huge ships, right?

I won't be considing any wave 5 ships, until I received my wave 4 pre-order way back in April.

I hope this will give FFG some incentive to release wave 4 ships. I know they have them in the US now.

Is the decimator twice the size of the falcon? No? Then your point is bogus. The tantive is easily double the size of a transport. The decimator looks a tiny bit bigger than the falcon.

The Decimater is almost twice as thick, so there is more material there than in the Falcon.

Personally i think the bump should have been $5 not $10, how much more plastic does it take then a falcon? 10 cents (if that). Hopefully we will see a large amount of missions in it! Being that we get the same amount of cards as any other large ship.

The price seems reasonable for their self proclaimed largest large ship. Still, the paint argument is a little... grayer.

Remember, part of the increase is to cover shipping. I'm guessing that they gave it a new package. It does seem to imply that it is substantially bigger.

Remember that is preorder and the prices may changes, so we neeed to wait until some other previews, or FFG give us the prize and MM correct it, greettings.

MSRP is confirmed to be $39.95 on FFG's site.

I used to crew a VT-49 Decimator in SWG. They're really not a lot bigger than a YT-1300 or a YKL-37R Nova Courier.

I'm loving this. Half because it's a favorite of mine, half because I freaking called it months ago.

VT-49's are expensive. It doesn't cost anymore for FFG to manufacture, they are just following Expanded Universe canon.

I had 7 Z95s ordered and 4 of everything else. I dropped my order by 1 of each and changed to have both of these ships. I think that I am excited more then anything else for new goodness, even if the one costs a bit more. It looks look like in the picture to have a bit more definition to it with curves and height, I would not be surprised if it was the tallest ship we get.

Some folks will always complain. Give them a $20 bill, and they'll complain how you folded it.

Something else I was thinking about as a video game player I get about 4-5 new games a year, about 10-20 on sale for Steam/GOG, and about 20-40 from humble bundle. its about 400.00-600.00.

Barring anything else coming out 330.00, covers all the ships for a single year, or 27.50 a month,

Rebel Aces 40.00 2-Boxes

Wave 4 ships 120.00 2-Phantoms 2-Def 2-E-Wings 6-Z95s

Wave 5 Ships 70.00 2-YT2400 1Dec

Transports 40.00 1- Trans

CR 60.00 1- Trans

So this is very do able I think for the average person.

Agreed - its always about priorities and choices. I could drink $5 cup of goodness at Starbucks on the way to work every day..... or I could skip that and spend that $1,300 per year on gaming.

I don't think the average person buys nearly that much. :P
