just when i thought you guys were slowing down, bang!!!

I concur. dr. dr. dr. dr.

EDIT: (spies like us anyone)?

Agreement

Anybody else notice that the debris clouds reflect each ship's faction enemies? The VT-49 has Rebel ships (shattered B-wing and X-wing) and the YT-2400 has TIE/Ln and TIE/Bm solar panels and cockpit pods.

That's a nice touch. Very classy FFG.

I love how the announcement adresses just the concerns I've seen on this forum about Imps lacking turret + crew. Keep 'em coming, FFG!

If I hear one more bloody imp player complaining about turrets now I will force feed them this post on paper every time and then when it comes out, I will make them eat a real wave 5 model lol

Was just saying last night so tired of hearing that complaint...thank you FFG!

yes, they listen to the fans, that is huge.....

but they do it in a way that doesnt disturb the balance and that is what i find remarkable. GW would have shot this game in the foot by now.

new terrain is a huge plus as well, been waiting for that for a long time. would be nice to see stuff other than asteroids floating out there in tournament land.

wait.....give it a few weeks or right after wave 4 hits, we will see the next EPIC ship for the imperials (crosses fingers on both hands)

get some silicon rubber and make a mold of this ship so you can make chocolate candy versions and make us eat it

they have molds for some star wars ships out there.

Just to clarify and to avoid being fed a Decimator, I never felt restricted by the lack of turrets on my TIEs. It's still good to see a large Imperial ship. I'm reluctant to use the shuttle because I can't bring myself to see it as a combat ship, I'd rather play a scenario where you have to protect the shuttle. Oh, and the Firespray is not really an imperial ship in my eyes.

I liked Episode 1-3...

But then again, I loved the original Lord of the Rings trilogy movies, but dislike the Hobbits movies.

Maybe it is all about age, timing, generations, target audience, rather than something just being good or bad.

that is a valid point,

when i was a kid i thought the movie Ice Pirates was awesome, had to rent it and show my kids, it was awful.

i laughed at myself for liking it.

it was still ok, but not like i remembered

Not to discredit anyone's opinion, but you do realize that Mr. Lucas created everything from scratch. Nothing like what he did was ever thought of before. The openning scene alone to episode IV shocked audiences and immediately let you know you were about to watch a movie never done before.

The story line itself is technically perfect. Good guy bad gut, redemption, etc.

Special effects, never done before, inovative at every step. work hard?! Hell he invented the modern movie.

Just my 2 cents.

You do know he was inspired and used a lot of references from Akira Kurosawa movies like "the hidden fortress" star wars had a lot in common and took a lot of ideas.

He also wanted to do a flash gorden movie but was not able to get the rights. So this was his flash movie.

There is a lot of similarities to the flash movies as well. I won't list them here but look it up and you will see he cloned a lot of ideas from that as well

He also designed a lot of characters that were later changed. Han solo was originally a green alien.

I'm q huge star wars fan, but to say he invented the modern movie is giving him a little too much credit.

He borrowed a lot of ideas from Japanese films, and a lot of the original design was rejected by others in the industry until changes were made, and what that gave us was the original trilogy.

The prequels however less was changed and people didn't speak their mind as much as the original, and what that gave us? Jar Jar which is probably one of the worst characters in the whole series

I will agree about the special effects for the time. They were far from Prefect, but in comparison way ahead of the rest

Of course... and Wookie was in his prior Farenheight movie. But Star Wars was a new evolution in movies.

i was speaking of episodes 1-3 as stated in my post not 4-6

and yes, Lucas was inovative. but he did not have total control over 4-6, 1-3 he did, and they were a let down.

yes there was some really cool stuff in the films, but there was some real rubish too.

midichlorians?

imaculate conception?

JarJar?

auto pilot that takes you to a battle?

i have to admit that i really liked most of the 3rd movie. but dying from a broken heart?

did R2 forget he had rocket jets?

its like everyone said yes Mr. Lucas, Thats great Mr. Lucas, your so smart Mr. Lucas......

no they were not totally bad.

the huge battle on Geonosis was cool, the fight between Obi Wan and Jengo was cool

Darth Maul was cool (and killing him in the first movie sucked)

the fight between Anikin and Ben was cool

the scene where Anikin kills the sandpeople was great story telling

in my book they were good to better than good movies, but not great or iconic as 4-6

Hey I'm not trying to argue. I love the movies, but Lucas didn't invent the modern movie imo.

He just took ideas and literally and in some cases almost an exact copy from one movie into his.

He also didn't come up with the design, but everyone that worked in the original trilogy brainstormed, and in a lot of cases changed his original design.

Just compare the original trilogy with the prequels and yout can see the difference.

The original trilogy not all Lucas. The prequels mostly his original design.

Left a lot of fans with a bag taste in their mouths.

I'm glad he has nothing to do with this game. I don't think it would be as successful.

I continue to be impressed with the innovation and sheer creativity shown by Fantasy Flight Games.
