360° autoblaster?

By TallTonyB, in X-Wing

On a Mac, ° is simply option+shift+8; no alt code nerditude needed. However, it is substituted with Mac user nerddom.

Or you could just, you know, copy and paste it...

The way i read the Outrider title upgrade, if you did have an autoblaster you could fire it 360 degree however you would lose the ability to shoot beyond that range as you cannot use your primary weapon. It would be the same problem with the HLC, you wouldn't be able to shoot anything at range 1.

I think you can still use HLC at range 1. You just don't right now because you get 4 dice with everything else that can take it.

Nah, HLC is range 2-3 only.

That's why I've never used it yet. However, with a barrel roll, that might make it worthwhile for this.

Yup, so @Muz, with Autoblaster+Outrider title, you sacrifice the ability to attack targets beyond Range 1, but are able to shoot 360 in any direction at Range 1, with hits being uncancellable by dice. Honestly, I still don't think Autoblaster is worth its paper. Similarly, with Heavy Laser Cannon+Outrider Title, you give up the ability to target ships at Range 1. So, you get 4 dice at Range 3 and the defender doesn't get an extra die for range, but you still get +1 for defense, totaling 3. So, use barrel roll to stay at Range 3, give it Push the Limit and Recon Specialist, and you become a heavy hitting, quite durable turret platform.

Oh, my. The most expensive 2400 is only 36 points. Which means you could certainly fit 3 2400s into a list. Imagine, 3 turret-wielding powerhouses. This is gonna be a fun wave

The cheapest one is probably 30 points. Three of them leave you ten points to improve damage output. Three attacks of 2 dice each are less than impressive.

The PS7 with an EPT and an amazing ability is 36. I would guess that costs 5 pts for the PS, 1 for the EPT, and 1-2 for the ability. That puts it around 28-29. I mean how do you justify the PS2 varient being 3 points more than the PS1 Outer Rim Smuggler.

I would guess 28 or 29.

That second evade die is worth quite a lot. I would put my money on 29-30 points, 30 being the more likely, but we shall see.

And then I remember the statline on the ORS is weaker. Nevermind that.

Still guessing 29.

Well +1 for the PS +1 For one more shield at the cost of a hull+barrel roll (I figure both of these are fractions of a point), +1 for the agility fairly easy to get to 3pts as well as Dash being 36 +5 for the extra PS and then +1 for his ability 30 seems like a good fit,
