The tournament rules will not allow the new asteroid tokens until such a time as the tournament rules are updated to allow them.

i get that, which is why i asked of the rules would be amended. otherwise, i would have asked, "will these new obstacles be allowed?" but since i knew, i asked of they would be amended

But no one will know or sure, so I don't really see the point in asking if the rules will be amended. We can assume they will, but until they make a rule, we won't know.

in that spirit, I'm thinking the rule will be that if big ships go boom, they leave debris, and debris is hazardous to the health of those who fly through them. The follow-up question is: will this also count for other large ships... What about huge ships.

Or, they're just templates for the scenario that's included. On second thought, that's where I'm laying my speculation bet.
