Bring Out the Big Guns! Wave 5 announcement
Squad Leader and Swarm Tactics are both noun-phrases.2/4No worries...
We have lots of "international" players about and sometimes language is funny!
Fun fact... 4 EPTs are not fully noun/adj either.
Push the Limit
Squad Leader
Swarm Tactics
Draw Their Fire
Did I get them all?
Outmaneuver and Expose are the remaining Verbs
True, I thought we were talking about strictly nouns and stuff, not phrases. I understand.
Refused!ok I have to say this stuff looks awesome, but can we please play with the wave 4 stuff before making us drool over wave 5!?!?!?!?!?!
If they didn't want us to speculate, they would not have shown the cards!
Btw Ta____ Ja____ could be Tactical, Tactics or Target, Targeting, and either Jammer, Jack (or Janitor XD... As in Space Janitors!)
Talkative Janitor - a spy that you can assign to an enemy ship that gets them so distracted they miss their turn.
You're welcome.
Or Tatooine Jawa (Imperial Only) - removes all droids from rebel ships.
Wow...grammar cops.
I want, and would play, a tactical Jawa that takes out an enemy astromech. Just stick him in a missile tube and by by Artoo.

It was a slow day on the forums. Gotta entertain...

Brilliant!
It might have been discussed already but I don't have the time to read through this whole thread. I'm super excited about the decimator! Wonder how much bigger it is compared to the other "big" ships seeing that the suggested retail price is 10 dollars higher...
so guys the only question for me is now is this all we get in wave 5 ? or are we seeing 2 little fighters alongside those heuge monsters ?

We have no idea. This is all FFG has shown us so far. I have a feeling this is all we will see for Wave 5, though that is pure speculation.
There could be two more big ships in wave 5. I can't imagine they'd call it a wave when it's just two new ships...
I'm not preordering anything just yet. I'm in Canada, so there's no way for me to avoid shipping costs. If there are more ships coming in with wave 5, I might as well get them all in the same bundle (much like what I'm doing with wave 4).

The YT-1300 is 34.37m long. The VT-39 is 38m long, to scale that works out to be about half an inch longer IIRC.
That may not seem like much, but when you consider the bulk of the VT-39 compared to the Falcon or Slave-1 and the increased size, I can see why it costs an extra $10.
As to the 2 ships in the wave. There's no reason to assume there will be more. FFG has never defined a wave as 4 ships, just that's what we've gotten before. But now they're dipping pretty deep into the well of the EU so it makes sense they might put out smaller waves, until things like the Rebels Cartoon or Eps 7 comes out.

I agree that they think smaller waves would stretch the ship supply out until new ones are "released" into the DEU (Disney Expanded Universe) by Rebels and the Sequel Trilogy/spinoffs. Logistically a 2 large ship only wave could also help some of their stocking issues, people are less likely to buy multiples of large ships (or if they do it is a smaller quantity of large ships than if they were smalls) easing the demand, 2 Ships VS 4 means they can produce more of each, assuming a limited amount of printing/storage time/space increasing the supply
I am also not too sure if this is a little to temper the Phantom, since so many people seem to think it will be very powerful and Meta defining, maybe a quick Turreted Large ship wave will curtail a Tie Swarmesque meta dominance before it gets started for the Phantom.
I think putting out 4 ships so "soon" after 2 very expensive sets might have something to do with it as well.
Edited by CryixI'm fine with the idea of them slowing down on the ships. At this rate they're coming too fast, they'll run out of good stuff before long.
Ooh, I can use the bases as proxy Turbolaser cannons in my Death Star Trench Scenario. Now all I need to do is find a way to make a range dial for the death star. (Im' thinking of something that looks like the rebel tactical map on their display.
It'll be interesting to see how the generic Decimator pilot plays out. It's got more 6 more HP, 3 primary attack and 3 PS, compared to the ORS.
Surely this means they'll be more than the magical 33 points, thereby stopping anyone from running 3 in a list?

I don't see how it is less than 40 pts. Chiraneau's ability is good, but I don't see it being more than 1 pt good.

I don't either, but I can see as low as 38. But given that it's PS3 it's probably 40. Fit's with the Bounty Hunter to Fett Ratio. Although Chiraneau's ability is way better than Fett's...

It depends on if they do a Falcon type down scale on the lower PS

We can see that they didn't in the article.

Oops my bad I forgot to check that place lol
Personally, i've wanted a vt-49 since the release of star wars: galaxies - jump to lightspeed when previews first revealed it (whole reason I went imp pilot first was to get that ship). As a naval enthusiast first & foremost, I like finally having a gunboat that looks like a proper starship for use in standard games (whole reason I got into xwing was the cr90 & with it the possibility to recreate small class starship skirmishes complete with fighters as opposed to the fleet actions such as those found in call to arms, battlefleet Gothic or firestorm armada (which I also play)). With ffg willing to dive into ship designs from swg:jtl, I'm hoping this would also mean that the rebels might eventually get a large ship with a centered bridge/cockpit that fits with sleek starship design ethos as opposed to the fringe cockpits of the current offerings. In particular i'd hope they add the incom x-4 gunship (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/X4_Gunship) as i've long wanted one of those as well in addition to the fact that the ship design concept could also add something new to the game.
