Bring Out the Big Guns! Wave 5 announcement

By dvorm, in X-Wing

MathWing time!

Conclusion: 12/4 hull/shields is nice, but it actually has less durability than the YT-2400, named YT-1300, or Firepsray due to its 0 agility. (estimated results). Its 64% jousting efficiency really can't touch the Firespray's 85% jousting efficiency. However, it has a 360 degree firing solution, which is going to make it a good counter to TIE Phantoms, and increases its overall efficiency. You're really paying for those 3 crew slots on this ship, so you will need to use most or all of its Crew slots to really take advantage of it.

Edit: P.S. I haven't read any of the comments on the thread here yet.

No real surprise their of course I think comparing the Yt-2400 to a Firespray would be reasonable bet, the Firespray has an attack die but only has a rear arc not a full turret, but the rear arc while giving it a blind spot probably has enough advantages over a turret to make the 2 about equal

Anyone mention Ion Torpedo? It has to be pretty cheap, 2 points?

Does it?

I would guess 3pts at a minimum to = the cost of the Ion missiles

HLC Outrider is going to be nice against Phantoms.

I would not be surprised if Decimator had a red 0 and no turn maneuvers. A white 0 seems logical, but that means the Decimator can turtle the entire game at it's deployment with 360 arc, and I'm not sure that would be any fun.

Anbody think that the last Imp Only Crew is Jerrek from Jedi Knight? Because that has me REALLY pumped.

I'm loving these. I plan on running a titless outrider with heavy Laser most of the time. That ability to barely move with a HLC, but to peg incoming ships when they try to flank is pretty great, and the Title strikes me as Obnoxious. Technically it can run as a Super Y-Wing, which is cool too, but at the point cost it seems too high.

All things considered, Buying 1 of each. Loving both of them.

And to those who say the Falcons dial is average, any ship that can turn and overlap its own base isn't average. The Falcon has one of the best dials in the game.

Jerrek seems to short. The "Jer" is the second line, and will take up a lot of the space for the name. My guess is it is Jerjerrod!

Also, Fleet Officer on a ship with Advanced Sensors, anyone?"

I love the difference between Lando's and Han's crew abilities. Han takes the gamble out of your Target Lock, and Lando puts the gamble Into the Focus.

Remember who won the Millennium Falcon from whom in a game of Sabaac?

Alright, so the breakdown of Lando's odds are:

4/64 :|: gaining 2 Focus tokens

9/64 :|: gaining 0 Tokens

9/64 :|: gaining 2 Evade tokens

12/64 :|: gaining 1 Focus token

12/64 :|: gaining 1 Focus token and 1 Evade token

18/64 :|: gaining 1 Evade token

So, appx 14% of the time, you have wasted your action, appx 39% of the time you have gained 2 tokens, and appx 47% of the time you have gained a Focus or Evade token without having performed a Focus or Evade action.

Moreover, appx 60% of the time you will have received at least 1 Evade token, and appx 44% of the time you will have received at least 1 Focus token.

Now put Lando with Threepio, on Han's Falcon.

With Push the Limit and the Millennium Falcon title.

(Guybrush) Threepio is basically a free 5/8 chance of a Focus token every turn as well.

All together, that's approximately a 9% chance of evading 4 hits in a turn without rolling any [squiggly] results on your dice!

That's practically a Reinforce action!

Okay, 34 pts for the ultimate action passer

Colonel Jendon + FCS + Weapon Engineer + Fleet Officer

Shoot a target to gain a TL and a second one on the ship of your choice. During Activation Phase, give one of your target lock to a ship in Range 1 and a Focus to 2 ship in range 1-2. Optional, ST-321 for 3pts so you can take a TL on any ship on the board and build up your TL reserve from the start! ;P

Brath has a new favorite friend.

I'm just not seeing the usefullness of the Outrider title + HLC and running it on Dash... Thats 48 points for a 4/2/5/5 ship that can't shoot at range 1. High PS phantoms and Interceptors that can close the distance are going to tear him up... The Barrel roll will be less effective if you don't know where the hell they will be. Then you aren't using your TL or Focus action. Maybe there is something I am missing.

Moff Jerjerrod, I think.

With it's 0 agility, maybe the Decimator will have a way (unique) to regain its shields? Or hulls?

I would be happy if the deci had no k-turns but had non red hard turns at least.

Bets on whether there will be an IAstyle event for this? It would be fun but at the same time having to make the top 2 to win a ship would be a little disheartening for many players

vader+decimator=decivader! 360 firing arc with tons of hull and shields
add gunner for some real fun

Best news on a Friday the 13th a guy could ask for!

With it's 0 agility, maybe the Decimator will have a way (unique) to gain back its shields? Or hulls?

The Modification "Tactical Jammer" might give you what you ask for in a way but still too blurry to make it out

Hmm, triple Tactician would be interesting.

Hmm, triple Tactician would be interesting.

Tactician works inside your 80° firing arc. Not 360°. So that might not be the best idea.

I want to run Trip Merc. Co-Pilot. Stay at Range 3. Shoot. Profit.

There's also the Decimator title card, and face down mod card.

Hmm, triple Tactician would be interesting.

With a turreted Primary.

On a large-base ship who gets absurd use out of Expert Handling and/or Engine Upgrade.

There is no "Overkill". There is only "Open Fire" and "Reload".

Turret does not equal firing arc.

Question:

Dash ignores obstacles during activation, does that include mines? They are an obstacle aren't they?

For a "Stressimator" loadout, how about Mara, Tactician, and Rebel Captive?

If I remember correctly, there are around 36 cards in a damage deck.

So killing a Decimator will blow through about a third of the damage cards. Wow.

Not that it will make much of a difference, but still ... Wow.

For a "Stressimator" loadout, how about Mara, Tactician, and Rebel Captive?

You could, you could. I personally prefer the more aggressive style of two tacs and a Mara which would punish the enemy for being attacked instead of punishing him for attacking me.

You could also go for 2 Tacs and a Gunner, for potentially stressing out two ships for two turns, as long as they are in the firing arc.

Don't have my cards with me right now. Check the "using bombs" reference card. Last sentence.

Edit: Found a picture. Bomb tokens are not obstacles.
