Escalation list advice please!

Got an escalation tournament next week and thinking along these lines;

Rd1

BSP x3

Howl runner

Rd2

Omicron w/ vader, advanced sensors and hull upgrade

Rd3

BSP

Dark curse

Rd4

Carnor Jax with shield upgrade.

Any thoughts? I'm likely going up against a metric f1cktonne of b wings and other rebel scum. Not many imperial players here.

I ran something similar at a small (4 player) escalation the FLGS held, but I put an Interceptor in the first round (Soontir + PtL).This eats up a lot of your 60 pt limit, but he's one of the best end-game finishers, and a 60pt game is basically end game. Especially against Rebel Scum, you'll probably be facing 2-ship builds in the first round, which Soontir will rip apart.

And that's exactly what he did when I flew him.

I then added on TIE Fighters, Howlrunner and eventually a BH. Went 3-0 so didn't even get to play my 150pt squad :P

Just bring tie fighter and call it a day.

It's a perfect list.

I like it, but I think that's too many points on a shuttle that wants to kill itself. Since I just had a good amount of success with a PS6 TIE swarm, I'd probably run this version of your squad:

Now, for commentary:

Howlrunner in Round 1 may be problematic. Are 3 additional ships enough to warrant her ability?


Remember that you can spend un-spent points in future rounds, and also that you can fill unfilled upgrades lots in future rounds as well. You do NOT have to supply exactly 30 points of new ship every round!

Don't be afraid of a high initiative bid in one round, as you'll be able to fit in more ships the next. Don't soak points that you don't need to.

If you're planning on running Darth Vader on a shuttle, do NOT run additional upgrades on it. That shuttle is born to die, so additional upgrades are just asking for trouble. Hull Upgrade does provide one additional Vader activation, unless your opponent deals your ship an odd number of damage. 50/50 for 1 more crit isn't worth 3 points.

Your final 150 point fleet currently looks like this:
