I was wondering if there was already a thread that has list of terms / names of technical devices , words / every day things people have made.

For example, Ship shields are void shields. Or the metal known as plasteel.

I would recommend reading some of the Black Library novels.

And don't be too afraid of just making stuff up - BL authors, FFG writers, and GW designers do it all the time. Just make it fit, phonetically.

For example, I've never seen "flexsteel" anywhere but in novels from James Swallow (where it was used as a part of power armour), but it sounds like it could really be a material from the setting, so why the hell not.

This is one of the advantages of having no enforced consistency between the sources. Adopt what you like, dismiss what you dislike (as long as the rest of your group are on board, ofc).

The closest thing I've seen to that is a one-page glossary of terms in one of the Imperial Guard Codexes (4th or 5th edition). Compiling one here on the Forums would be a good project (-for someone who is more OCD than I am...).
