Interceptor wing just broke off :-(

By Revanchist, in X-Wing

I am sad :-(

First one to happen to me so far . . . Any suggestions on how/what to do to fix it? I'm thinking Model glue should do the trick, right?

krazy glue did the trick nicely when i roughed up my royal guard.

Congratulations... you have unlocked 1 of 2 very special models not usually availible to the public!

1- Space debris!

2- Tie ugly

I used the gell type of crazy glue on my bomber's wing, it's held up so far.

Crazy glue or "plastic cement" used for model building will all do fine.

Critical Hit!

It's happened to one of my Interceptors and one of my Advanced, and both times cyanoacrylate glue has been my friend (I use Loc-tite gel).

Just remove an agi from the base go to go.

Zappit gap and kicker my friend.

If glue alone wont do the trick im sure it wouldnt be too hard to drill a small hole through the wing and into the hull, secure it with a small rod, a bit of paperclip or something.

When my A-Wing engine fell off, I used Gorilla-brand "super glue" and it worked out well.

Superglue is your friend. I'd had an X-Wing and a Y-Wing break, after a little super glue you couldn't even notice.

Find a way to hold it in place and leave it there overnight. It might dry faster but why take the risk?

Just one. Pfff. I've got a wingless Interceptor flying around right now.

If the plastic didnt feel britle I would say pin and vace it with some super glue.

Well I used some modeling cement to put the wing back in place: some in the socket where the wing meets the chassis and some around the circumference on the outside of that socket. Only time will tell if it is fixed. Thankfully, nthe glue is specifically designed to be used on the clear plastic windows of models, so it dries clear.

I'd use an acetylene torch on it..... or perhaps a mig welder.... ;)

Model cement melts styrene, so its your best bet. The glue you chose is almost elmers white glue, so it wont hold up over time. Super glue like zap a gap fills as it bonds but it doesn't seal the break, it makes a joint between the pieces.

Model cement is the way to go for durability

Zap-a-Gap ftw!

I bought some used Ties on Ebay and some wings were missing. Krazy Glue is my brand of choice. My patch jobs are holding up just fine.

Missing or broken? Hard to glue a piece you don't have...unless you're really good (like a 3D printer) with glue...

If your careful with the clue, and maintain the cracks, you can use some inks and such to make the cracks look electricy, makes for some cool battle damage!

Bring on the Kragle!!
