Firing through huge ships

By Neosaki, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Ok, even though I can't seem to find this in the rule books which came with the CR90 or the GR-75, I am assuming that based off the text of the EM Emitter card "When you obstruct an attack, the defender rolls 3 additional defense dice (instead of 1). Limited." that whenever an enemy fires upon a ship that is obstructed by a huge ship (the range ruler passes through the huge ship), the defender gets to roll one defense die.

Soo....

- My question is if when one of your own ships fires at an enemy ship, and the range ruler passes through one of your own huge ships, does the enemy ship get to roll an extra defense die?

It sure does. There's a section in the rulebooks called "Obstructing", which says:

When a ship performs an attack, if its closest-point-to-closest-point line passes through any part of a section of a huge ship and that huge ship is not the target, the attack is obstructed; the defender rolls one additional defense die.

As an extra point, the EM Emitter also works both ways. If you try to shoot past your own huge ship while it has an EM Emitter, the target is going to get the 3 extra defence dice.

Thanks!!!
