I've been thinking about this tease that we saw at Talisman Island. Its a pretty picture to be sure, and seems to hint at things that I, in particular, would like (a lot!).
I think it is most likely an alt ending, called 'Oberon's Gate'.
I imagine that it is a revealed ending; we know going in what it means and how it affects play and the outcome.
Here goes. Oberon's Gate is the Master Rune Gate. Possibly any existing rune gate, or certain portals (or spells?) will be able to take you there (CoC), from anywhere in the Realm . . . . if ....
The mechanics of the Woodland come into play, with the various 'paths' or distinctions between dark or lightbound, all forming a new set of conditions of being, being able to use the Gate to go to the crown. Sort of like the Talisman version of "You must be Worthy".
I'll be the first to admit how this could really play out; I wouldn't favor a dynamic that only favors good, evil or neutral players, so it must be something that any player can achieve and the somewhat vague mechanics we sense with Woodland and light/dark Fate may figure into it.
