nice. u have many payers dwn ur way?

Invercargill and we have about 8 players standard at this moment. Can't wait for the tournament this weekend at Dunedin.

There's no NZ facebook group or anything?

There is about 40 or so members on the X-wing Wellington Facebook page.

I am also from Wellington.

heya, I'm down in Timaru and dont get my X Wing out often enough. We've got about 6 players down here.

I know the Christchurch community is pretty strong, they recently ran an event with 18 players

I'm hoping to get to Conquest (Nov 1st + 2nd, Chch) for some X-Wing

Yep Wellington player here, as stated above we have about 40 odd players on our Wellington X-Wing Facebook page, though many are spread around the region so we don't get too many at our weekly gaming night in the CBD but good turnouts to events.

I'm in Auckland.

Christchurch here. Some of the guys post here: http://forum.nzwargamer.net/viewforum.php?f=97

There are a lot of players here, we had 19 on Saturday at the Twisted Hop and there were a number of regular players not there.

I'm from Feilding, me and a mate currently play and i have another friend who plays casually and am working on another one who is a Star Wars fan (should be easy to turn...)

Auckland. Just moved there from Melbourne.

I was in that comp, the only guy to bring the snowy white space cow.

Great venue but the T O (great guy) has no clue, 12 asteroids was insane, not to mention the tables were about range two to short. Thankfully he took that announcement back for the two normal games we played but we still had to endure the 12 for his odd mission.

Good on him for trying to spice things up I guess but that's the third of his missions I've played and over all I have to say when you have prizes to win and when the missions count for the score it really sux not being prepared for them.

Having 60-75 min for a game and spending some of that time reading and understanding what the mission(s) involve.....not to keen on that.

I've played in Auckland at Vagabond Games so far. There is a solid group of about 10+ players meeting every other week. The Auckland Facebook groups seem to be fractured and not overly popular and I'm unsure where else games are on.

Shame also that Imdaar Alpha didn't get here.

You could try the Auckland Wargaming Club, the North Shore Wargaming Club, the South Auckland Miniature Wargames Club and the Auckland Cityguard. PM me and I'll try and put you in touch with the contacts for each.

I think that is being a bit harsh, though I won't argue the point too much as I am probably not the most impartial (given that I have been friends with him for close to 30 years). The prize support wasn't really the point- when setting up the tournament I don't think he was overly sanguine on even getting any- like me, he's mostly interested in having interesting games, which means some can be a little unbalanced. Having an idea of the games in advance probably would be fairer though, I'll suggest to him that for future tournaments he post any unusual mission rules on the forums (bearing in mind that there was only one person at the tournament who had seen the missions in advance- not me- and he didn't come close to winning).

I'm in Auckland and play at Vagabonds (when I can get there).

To get in touch with the crew for the Vagabonds nights sign up on Facebook here:

Otherwise the various wargaming clubs are a good bet.

Im sorry I didn't mean to offend but any more than the standard 6 asteroids is madness on a 3 by 3 table. Having more than that you may as well say don't bring large based ships.

I came mostly to have fun not win prizes, and if I had of won id have donated it to the first guy I played as I stomped him so bad due, in no small part, to his horrible dice roles.

Im all for playing missions in friendly games just not in a tourney setting.

I played at the Christchurch event and thought it a lot of fun. It seemed to be more of a chance for people to get together and meet rather than a "serious tournament", with a lot of various x-wing people now in contact, so I would say it was successful. For anyone in Christchurch interested in playing, the Woolston Workingmens club usually has people playing on Sundays.

Chrustchurch seems to be very well represented by players as well as members here on the FFG Forums.

Coming to the party really late, but I'm in Auckland and looking for games.
