Ok guys, I never read much. I used to have perfect vision etc. Here lately I've been having bad, bad headaches. I just got Descent 2.0 and I noticed how ridiculously SMALL the font seems to be.
My friend said "That's the right size"
But I feel that it's really hard to see, ESPECIALLY the flavor quest. Is it just me or does anyone else have trouble reading the books?
I feel like I see fine everywhere else, but I just want to ask before I take off to the eye doc.
Thanks.
Dewayne
Rulebook font small to you guys?
I guess it can be subjective, but it seems fine to me (at least right now; I've been lucky that my eyesight has still been strong so far!)
I'd have to compare the font size to some other games, but right off the top of my head it seems like the font is much bigger than that for Mage Knight, for instance.

Wow I couldn't imagine it being SMALLER than this, I mean if I measured it they wouldn't be but a few millimeters tall.
also, I copied and pasted that and now my words are highlighted in dark grey, lol. NOt sure how this will post....
If the text on the Descent books or cards is small or hard to read I think you made the right call in going to see the doctor. You shouldn't be having problems reading it. I'll bet that all you will really need is a pair of reading glasses.

First, I need to preface this response with the fact that I am a lot older than the majority, if not all, of the people that utilize this forum, and play these games. I have always been the oldest participant by far on game nights, amongst friends, etc.
But HELL EFFING YES !!!
I do wear glasses, but only for reading. I get my eyes checked regularly, and have my reading glasses updated as appropriate. Even with the glasses, it can be tough to read some of the text, based on the lighting in the room. Sometimes I feel that I need a magnifying glass (more so than what the glasses provide). I actually have an app on my iPhone that scans, magnifies, and lights anything under the camera. LOL.
Unfortunately, with the amount of information that many of these games needs to impart, especially on small cards (such as the condition cards, the hero's skill cards, etc.), they have no choice but to use small fonts. Oh well.

A lot of people feel the same way before they visit their optometrist and they will often come out realizing that "fine" isn't necessarily as good as they could have been seeing. It's almost definitely time to get a check-up and probably pick up some glasses from them.
(As a side note, if you get your glasses elsewhere, don't expect your eye doc to do all the maintenance on them for free; they might, but it's considered extremely rude.)
