I chose an E Wing at AoIA and have been playing with it, looking at the stats and cards of the Headhunter and I'm like meh. I am more excited about gaining some cards, but the rebel ships... Meh!
Am I alone in this?

Actual ship wise, the only thing really impressive is the cloaking ability of the phantom, and the rebels getting a swarm unit, with a unique that's anti-swarm. The upgrades, on the other hand, seem to be the biggest draw
Tbh,I think I look forward to the imperials more
So looking forward to getting another phantom.
In order of what I'll buy so long as my local store had them in Stock
1 Phantom (gives me 2)
1 defender
1 ewing
2 Z96.
I really want the R7 Droid though. I think putting that on biggs will be fun
Edited by Krynn007I've been running my ewing and headhunter a lot, and I've been pretty impressed with the E. a bit pricey, but a fun ship. the headhunter.... not so much.

I'm rally looking forward to both the E-wing and Headhunter.
The Z95 is going to make it into a lot of lists. For 17 points I can shoot an Assualt Missile at you. Add another point for MF and I can insure that SOB hits home. Blount and Kraken both have great abilities, especially paired with a low threat ship. No one is going to be shooting at your Z first.
I think the E-wing can be a beast. Its expensive, but paired with Advanced Sensors and an R2 droid, you are suddenly more slippery than an interceptor and can shed stress better. Its a tankier X-wing with two great named pilots. Both have really good abilities. Horn can single-handedly kill any small base ship in the game in a single combat phase. Of course against Bs,Ys, and Defenders you'll have to be extremely lucky. The other dude just has to be looking at the poor enemy ship to trigger his ability.
The generic E-wings are very meh however. Kind of like the Defender generics.

So, all around good times.
Here is an example of absolute absurdity, that should actually be competitive, that is now made available by the introduction of a competitive 12 point ship:
Han Solo + Millennium Falcon + Push the Limit + Engine Upgrade + Luke Skywalker + C3-P0 (64)
3x Bandit Squadron Pilot (36)
Han has 2 guaranteed evades per round, is an absolute beast end-game, and can still put out good damage even without spending any actions on TL or focus. The 3 Z-95s have about 85% the damage of a pair of Rookies, but are overall about 20% more durable. As a bonus, the above hard counters those pesky high PS Phantoms.
Or try the "15/15/15" rebel swarm:
1 B-wing, 2 X-wings, 3 Z-95
15 attack dice
15 hull
15 shields
No Upgrades required. Just pure awesomeness.
There are so many new list variants with the Z-95 that if you can't think of how its useful, then you aren't thinking hard enough!

I'm with you. I don't care for the E-wing in general (don't care about its game stats, I just don't like its dubious pedigree--I feel the same way about the HWK-290). Won't buy any of those.
I like the addition of the Z-95, mostly on grounds of completeness and somewhat for the Rebel swarm potential, game-rule-wise. Not terribly excited about the Headhunter, but I will pick up 2 of them.
I like the Phantom and Defender, if for nothing else than for aesthetics. I will likely get two of each, eventually.
I am running out of things I would even consider buying, personally.
The top of that list is the YT-2400. After that, I think I'm done with my Rebel fleet.

The Rebel ships are as meh as the Rebels themselves. Join the Imperial Navy for some REAL flying.
Don't get me wrong the Phantom and Defender are pure awesomeness. I see the potential rebel swarm but not feeling it compared to current rebel builds, nothing is screaming out you gotta have me.
With that said, I'll still buy three or four for swarm potential, just not sure if I'll use them much.
I might just join a vast majority in the meta who are on the dark side, sad.
- The Z-95 will be the best jousting ship in the game for its cost. It's better than a naked TIE Fighter, although obviously not quite as good as one supported by Howlrunner.
- 27 points for a PS1 E-wing is quite expensive, but it may find its way into a few elite 3-ship builds, or Etahn + 5 Z-95 builds.
- The TIE Phantom is like playing Whack-A-Mole with Piranhas.
- The Defender is giving Kinetic Operator another viable platform to use Engine Upgrade, it just takes a lot of skill (and white K-turns) to overcome its natural jousting being as bad as the TIE Advanced.
So, all around good times.

That "15/15/15" Squad look very strong!
I'm rather excited for the Z-95. The E-Wing with Advanced Sensors could be fun, although I'm really doubting it will perform 5 points better than a B-Wing. Corran Horn however looks immensley fun, and Etahn is one of the best support ships in the game.
Abaht is going go be very good, I think.
The Z95 will be nice filler but I think will prove the value of dial in MJ jousting value when compared with the Tie Fighter and won't be as good of a ship in and of itself. I think that a pair of Bwings will still be better than three bandits.
I can't help but laugh at the idea of someone saying "meh" but with an exclamation mark. How does one emphatically express indifference?
I think that a pair of Bwings will still be better than three bandits.
Yeah, but shouldn't they be? A pair of B-wings is 20% more expensive than three Bandits.

Umm. Yes. Not sure what I was thinking there. I think was trying to imagine what people might fill in with a falcon and didn't explain it well.
As an Empire player, I think it is funny, that in order to get rid of Tie swarms, they (FFG) gave the Rebels a swarm...
I bet you are going to see alot of Rebel Z95 swarms, and I mean 5+ ship squads. It may take a bit for players to buy them, but they are coming. Also, while people say its not the same in that the Rebs do not have Howlrunner, you can still cause alot of problems by putting Biggs behind 5-6 Z-95, missles or no. Still, I suspect a Z95 swarm appearance in a few tournaments sooner than later.
With wave 4, the Rebels arsenal of ships has greatly diversified. You Rebs may not be impressed and thats because you had a great list of players to begin with.
just my 2 cents.

If Biggs is the most dangerous ship on a team you don't need Biggs. As an Empire player, I think it is funny, that in order to get rid of Tie swarms, they (FFG) gave the Rebels a swarm...

z95's with missiles still in the tubes are more dangerous than biggs
I've only played against myself and on Vassal, but I'm really digging the E-Wing. It's exactly the kind of ship I love: freakin' awesome stats, cool abilities, and flow by elite pilots. Expensive, but worth it. Etahn makes crits pop up a ton, which, en masse, really ruins your opponent's day. And Corran single-handedly brought me back to three-ship lists. Now, you're all but guaranteed to kill one ship in the first round, and have a shot at killing two. Hell, if you're against TIEs, it's not entirely unlikely that you can take down four in one round. And if the opponent focuses on Corran, then he can just jet off next turn and tank, leaving them to either K-Turn and get a lot of backstabbing shots from the rest of your list, or split their fire.
Watch this and your mind will be blown

Biggs isn't just for protecting more valuable ships; Biggs is for making your opponent's decisions for him, and for forcing him to make bad shots.

well someone is EXCITED. Just so darn expensive, especially with R2D2 etc ...
