As for speculation on the release date, I would be thinking that FFG's statement regarding Wave 4 usage at their event would give us a very good idea as to when to expect them.

Somehow a thread about Wave 4 turned into a discussion about cultural patterns in preferred sporting activities. I swear half the people on these boards have the attention spans of goldfish.

I talked with Dave the manager at the FFG Game Center. They may or may not have them on shelves for this weekend's Regional event. They decided to make them not legal so it would be more fair to players who didn't have a chance to play with them yet, even if they are available. It has nothing to do with any non-existant delay. FFG has always said by the end of June. Here we are in the early half, and players are saying delay if the wave is not on shelves by the middle of the month?

And this is the thing that annoys me about FFG's changed policy on new ships. They make this call for their event (which makes 100% sense) but they don't bother to make the same call for every other area that might be running a Regional event this weekend too.

What does it matter? Your local tournament organizers can make their own call just as easily. Not to mention, since their store is right next door to a big FFG warehouse, they're likely to get them sooner, and since all other regionals this weekend are outside the US, I'd be very surprised if it's even an issue, since they're very unlikely to have them for sale. Imdaar ships aren't legal till the wave is properly released, so what's the problem?

(Not to mention, this was the FFG store managers decision, should he be making calls for every store around the world? I don't think so.)

Stores run Regionals. If they have just received the new stock it's in their best interest to sell it and what better way to sell it then to make it legal for their event. So I very much doubt that a store is going to disallow them being used if they have a choice in the matter. This often means that you either have to buy from that store (because the stuff has only just been released and you travelling prevents you from getting to your local store), or you most likely have to do without. And if the store hosting the event sells out before you get there, too bad, so sad. If you ban their use for X number of weeks then you prevent this from even being an issue.

This bodes not well for the June 28th Mesa Az regionals that everyone from Southern California to New Mexico is commuting to. They'll likely release days before this....reallllly could have used that Phantom from Imdaar right about now.

They did have Q2 as date for a long time. Than the big guys like amazon had a date around the end of May, start of June as delivery date for quite some time (actually, until said dates), which they must have gotten from somewhere as well. And now it has suddenly always been like the last possible date within Q2? (the date on amazon did change to Monday, 23 June 2014 - Wednesday, 6 August 2014 for me so, that may also be where delay stories are coming from). So all in all, no need to get over myself, or somebody else for that matter

FFG has never changed their estimated date. Other retailers changing their date based on a random choice are not FFG's fault. How much you want to bet Amazon picked an early date based on some lame 3rd party vendor, then every other vendor based their early date based on Amazon. It's likely a feedback loop of foolishness.

What other regionals this weekend? There is one in Arizona in two weeks. I don't think there are any more this weekend. Perhaps I missed one tho. The whole point on the new regionals structure is that there are not a lot of them.

I truly hope this is the case, but doubt it will be since the Tantive IV was released after the first regional and the four crew cards that can be used on the Falcon were never made illegal. Hope I'm wrong, though, as I'm not looking forward to having to practice so many new ships on such short notice (I know there are proxies, but that is not quite the same or as easy).
