This is a type of forum game that most of you have seen before. The Forest expansion is coming out soon but we're still missing a lot of old characters, also there has been some great ideas for some new ones in a character suggestion thread.

Here are the rules: The list of Characters below are yet to make an appearance in 4th edition, each has 5 points next to their name, once a week members vote by copying the last posted list and add 1 point to a character and subtract from another. Once a character reaches '0' he/she is eliminated. This will show which characters the community desires to see release next.

Edit: To prevent this from going on forever because there are so many characters and so many points involved I'm going to place a time limit: Sunday August 31st 11:59 PM will be the expiration. After that I'll just make a standings list based on points accumulated and order of characters eliminated.

There is a chance especially within the 1st 24 hours 2 people posting at the same time, and then it will have to be fixed, and might not be.

Have all this characters been included in expansions from 1st-3rd editions? In Sweden we've had a translated version of the 2nd-3rd edition base game. But no expansions have been released in Swedish. Seems like I've missed more than I thought.

Might have to look into buying a complete english version of an older Talisman edition. How about this one?

Or is 3rd edition better...?

No the list doesn't include all of the characters from previous additions, and some are from suggestions for a new character.

If there are any errors in the voting of the list, I will auto correct. ex. rare occasion of two people voting at the same time.

Corrected list. Don't forget to remove any previously written (+/-) from the post before to avoid confusion. Also Paste as plain text should help.

Suggestion:

Rather than once per week, maybe it would be better to just say once but give more points to distribute (spending only one point per character still). It would be easier to manage and I see about 6 characters that I'd like to downgrade and 6 to upgrade. Realistically, I wont be keeping this watched for a month and a half to do it.

Actually to even further that, why not just allow everyone either +, - or unmodify each character on the list by a maximum of one. 1 vote allowed.

I realize this is going to be a long process, and the ball already got started rolling. Don't feel like much changing things now. Started each character with 5 points hoping it would speed things along, and I've selected once a week because these boards aren't that busy to justify once per day where it will be only the same few people voting on a daily basis. Weekly should keep people interested in visiting the site once and a while, if they care for such a thing as a forum elimination game.

Yeah didn't include Timescape characters, no worries bet they'll be in a 4th edition Timescape expansion.

Character Spotlight

Soldier

Soldier_zps6c46e61b.jpg

Your basic human man-at-arms armed with a shield, plate armor with chainmail, and mostly carries a sword as a basic weapon. He's been featured as a character in previous editions. Often used as pawns in the medieval era. The soldier excels at hand combat, and has rigorous military training that allows him to function in a unit, structured formations, strict discipline and routines. A good soldier always follows orders and is always prepared to meet his fate on the battlefield.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Feel free to make Character Spotlights of characters that are part of the voting list and that doesn't already have a spotlight post, and is not eliminated. Post a pic or two that represents the character and give a short summary of history/backround, descriptions, etc. All in good fun.)

I dont know if we will get a Timescape 4th. But I wanted to vote them off the island. They are still Talisman characters, why not add them :P

Call it discrimination...

There has to be a better way to do this..... This thread is TOO long and cumbersome to navigate.

Would this be better?
