If the Tantive IV is firing at a target at range 3 or higher, does the defender get an extra defense die or does that only apply to small ships? If the targets get an extra defense die, that makes the Single Turbolasers very weak!!

Single Turbolasers, being a secondary weapon, do nat add any defense dice. They do however, to compensate for this, double the opponents agility, as stated by the card text.

Yeah.....so that cloaked Phantom at range 3-5, behind an asteroid, and with a stealth device being shot at with a Single Turbolaser would get 11 dice if my math is correct cause you don't get to double the extra die for being behind the asteroid.

Correct. However anybody runnin Stealth on a Phantom needs to recheck their priorities.
