You have better options than what you've listed.

A current popular build that you can run is 4x Interceptors.

2x Royal Guard + Push the Limit

2x Saber Squad + Opportunist

If you want to run a Shuttle, consider the following builds

OmG + Vader (24) . High damage in the early-mid game. That it is guaranteed to be your first casualty lets you concentrate on high-damage with the rest of your fleet.

OmG + Engine Up (25). An Engine Upgrade is all it takes to turn the worst dial in the game into a very fast ship.

OmG + EUp + Fire-Control Systems + Gunner (32). Against High Agility foes, this ship eats their lunch. That Gunner will always shoot with a readied target-lock, regardless of what your actual actions were.

OmG + HLC + 2x Merc CoPilot (32). Why yes, the de-crittening of the HLC happens before the Mercs convert Hits to Crits at Range 3, meaning you're rolling 4 dice and your first 2 Hits become Crits every time. Great against Low Agility foes, and ones with high Hull values in particular.

Hell, 72 points of TIE Fighter is never a bad option to add to a fleet. From your 2 Cores and your 2 TIE Expansions, that's what happens if you run them all as Academies. 28 points left for Turr Phennir + PtL as the ultimate flanker? (Using Turr Phennir with PtL means that if you stress yourself in the Activation Phase, you won't get your in-combat Boost/Barrel-Roll. Fortunately, PtL doesn't care when the action is happening: it just needs an action to turn into two. So you can Focus in Activation, Shoot, Boost from your Pilot Ability, and Barrel-Roll/Evade from PTL, in that order.).

Sticking with the TIE FIghters, you could do a Named Tie Swarm, in which you field all 6 named TIE pilots.

Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Basically, pare down your upgrades to the point that your ship is Useful, and lower the Pilot Skill until it lands you in the role you want.

For instance, 32 points for an Interceptor +2 HP isn't as good as 25 points for one without. 3 HP is often enough, but risky. 4 removes the risk. 5 is expensive overkill.

What he said.

Shuttle with just Engine upgrade is pretty good. Adv Sensor not really needed. HLC is optional.

Go with 4 ships. List 1 i like the best.

Seems like you want to run Ints and a shuttle. I'm assuming you then have experience doing this build before and less experience with other things like a swarm.

My opinion is just to remove HLC and Adv Sen form the shuttle. And maybe give the sabers some hull/PTL or go to a higher pilot.

You can also save another point by going with Darth Vader instead of the Engine. That shuttle should be good with your squad too. your opponent has a lot of places he needs to kind of avoid. I think I like the Engine shuttle better though.

I wasn't actually sure about the advance sensors myself, and Squad 1 was my inital idea. The rest were just variations I was trying to think up.

I have two new squads now that might work in addition to the 6 AP's with Turr Phennir + PTL suggested by DraconPyrothayan.

Omicron Group Pilot 21

Engine Upgrade 4

Gunner 5

Fire Control System 2

Saber Squadron Pilot 21

Saber Squadron Pilot 21

Turr Phennir 25

Turr Phennir 25

Push the Limit 3

Alpha Squadron Pilot 18

Alpha Squadron Pilot 18

Acadmey Pilot 12

Acadmey Pilot 12

Acadmey Pilot 12

I actually have no expierence with Interceptors or the shuttle; they just seemed like a fun combination of a tank and flankers.

Also I don't have a lot of expierence in general, and only get to play it occasionally since none of the FLGS around here have game nights for it.

That's a lot of options you've provided. I'll give the standard answer here. Fly what your most comfortable with. Concentrate on out flying your enemy and getting your actions. You'll be more successful with a list you've flown before than one crafted here.

The only problem with your good advice is that I've flown several differnt squads. All in order to try teach people I know how to play so that I could have more people to play against.

Looking at your fleet I'd go Hans shoots first. Or at least get the firespray on the board. Both will be loads easier to fly than a list heavy in interceptors. The margin of error is razor thin.

Dracon makes some great suggestions, but for your first tournament, you might have trouble implementing a lot of those ideas. As Nickotine42 says, interceptors are not forgiving: you make one mistake and your interceptor is dead...

So perhaps trying something that's got lots of durability so that you can live even after an error in judgement here and there (which happens inevitably at your first tournament, or at least, it did for me).

Having said all that, you should also fly what your comfortable with and enjoy playing with the most because afterall, you want to enjoy every game as much as possible.

Here's some ideas you can take or leave as you see fit:

Jonus w/ proton torpedo

Bounty Hunter w/ HLC & hull upgrade

Omnicron w/ HLC & hull upgrade

There's 10 pts of upgrades which you could change to whatever else suits your fancy. Just keep everything close together so the big ships benefit from Jonus' re-rolls (who should probably fly behind-ish due to higher pilot skill)

Howlrunner w/ swarm tactics

Mauler mithel w/ swarm tactics

2 alpha sqd. interceptors

Omnicron w/ your choice of vader or engine up.

Keep your mini-swarm beside the shuttle so everybody benefits from howlie's re-rolls. Interceptors are in front and should be receiving swarm tactics as much as possible. Try to fly everything in formation without breaking it up (so mostly k-turning/hard turns rather than banks).

These aren't necessarily the best lists, of course, but they would be very easy to use. Whatever you decide, good luck!

So after reading over all of your suggestions and pondering what to run, I've think I have decided on the following list.

26: Omicron Group Pilot + Darth Vader + Anti Pursuit Lasers

18: Howlrunner

16: Dark Curse

15: Winged Gundark or Night Beast

12: Academy Pilot

12: Academy Pilot

99 points

I was originally thinking I might have Howlrunner and 4 Black Squadron Pilots with the Intergalactic Ivory Doom-Ram (sorry for the bad name; I've been reading SableGryphon's shuttle posts), but I'm not sure if that would work better or not.
