A FFG Star Wars Index

A quick peek at what's coming soon:

The thing that would make this complete in my view would be talent descriptions. Perhaps bullet out that section and put the description text in parentheses after each talent name?

That would certainly get the attention of FFG and most likely result in a C&D. For the most part FFG doesn't seem to be coming down too hard on fan made resources such as these because it doesn't serve as a replacement for the source material,

Yeah, we've been real careful about not replacing any of the books, just providing a quicker and easier way to reference and organize the information you already know. That's why there are book & page references for every item.

We really don't want to piss them off.

So I've toyed with the idea of the check boxes myself. I might do that up as an alternate view.

C&P, the graphics are just background everything is text so you could cut and paste. Brad could show you what it looked like without the CSS.

At most what I'll detail for talents is what's found in the talent yes themselves, not the full writeup that's why there will be page number references in a talent table.

I am no legal expert, but from a layman's point of view, I'm not sure I see the distinction. If I don't need to open the book to look up a weapon's attributes because I can use your database instead, haven't you already crossed that line?

The weapon's attributes are just data, I could strip off the name, call it a "Karrde's LaserFob" and nothing would be different. I'm not however inputing the few paragraphs of description that each weapon has but instead I'm pointing to that description.

If I start dumping rules beyond what's on the pages that say "photocopy for personal use" then someone is likely to come after me. Trust me, I've been hit with a C&D from FFG before.

Fair enough it's a good resource and i'm glad you haven't been asked to shut it down yet.

So the functionality for the Adversaries are in, now goes the long road of data entry.

I've got a bit in already: http://swrpg.viluppo.net/adversaries/

But I'm already seeing tweaks I can do :)

Enjoy.

Need any help?

Don't know why it bothers me, since it saves clicks, but that the only way you can get to a sub-subcategory (ex: Transportation > Vehicle > Airspeeder) Is to click the Category from the side panel then go to the sub-subcategory from there. If you just click subcategory from the side panel it gives you all the sub sub categories.

Would you be open to adding a header for all the sub-subcategories in the Subcategory window, or expanding the sidebar to include them when you're inside that Subcategory?

(sub sub sounds like an alien to me now.)

This is certainly a useful resource. One minor thing. The use of the abbreviation "CRB" is getting to the point where it probably shouldn't be used anymore. Now that AoR will be out soon, that book is also technically a "CRB." Using the term "EotE" will make things clearing after future releases. IMHO.

It probably isn't immediately obvious, bit if you're in the Vehicle list and you click the Airspeeder header it takes you to just Airspeeders.

Already thought of that. As soon as I add the AoR CRB it'll show up as A-CRB, and the existing one will show as E-CRB.

Oh, man. You have no idea how much convincing it took for me to get him to drop the EotE and use just CRB. :(

If you look at the page at http://swrpg.viluppo.net/books/ there you will see a list of books that are covered, and what abbreviations we use for which ones.

That said, if there is a community consensus that we should call the EotE CRB just plain "EotE" instead of "CRB", then I wouldn't oppose that.

Already thought of that. As soon as I add the AoR CRB it'll show up as A-CRB, and the existing one will show as E-CRB.

That's an even better solution. Thanks for being one step ahead of me! :D

Sounds good to me.

For those that care I've added RSS feeds to the site: http://swrpg.viluppo.net/blog/7/

I'll still post major updates here as well.

I just wanted to thank you guys. I used this in the session I ran on Saturday and things went so much smoother. No more digging through all my books to find the stats I'm looking for.

Thanks again.

I agree. This is an awesome resource.

So awesome, I wish there was a way to filter down the list based on criteria. I was thinking about comparing starter ships so I flattened the Starship list and sorted by cost. I wanted to be able to see just the ships from 80k to 120k credits so that I could compare hardpoints, crew/passenger cap, etc.

Also, it'd be nice if the table header was pinned to the top of the window when scrolling down since I have to remember which column is crew cap, rarity, passenger cap, HP, weapons, etc.

Yeah, I've been trying to look at "starter" ships myself. You want something in the right price range. You want something with Silhouette 4-5. You want something with a decent amount of HP available or already used for mounting weapons. You want something with some decent speed, so that you don't have to spend all your HP on Ion drive upgrades. You want something that allows for enough cargo and passengers, but doesn't necessarily require a great deal of crew.
The 4R3 Light Assault Transport "Freighter" and the YV-929 both look great, but they're very expensive and at risk of being able to out-gun a CR-90 Corvette, which is quite a bit more expensive. The J-type Star Skiff and the Starwind Pleasure Yacht are a step down, but still capable of mounting some pretty serious firepower. Even if you bought them used, you're not going to get them under or even near the "starting" price.
The ILH-KK Citadel-Class Light Freighter is more plausible, but really still a bit too expensive, even if you were to get one used. The PB-950 is getting closer, but then you have the problem that it's a Patrol Boat, and local sector security might not appreciate you flying around in the same vehicle they're likely to have for doing their job.
The Incom A-36 looks pretty nice, and you should be able to get a used one under the limit. It doesn't carry as much cargo, though. Then we're down into YT-2400/YV-560/YT-1210 territory.

Also, it'd be nice if the table header was pinned to the top of the window when scrolling down since I have to remember which column is crew cap, rarity, passenger cap, HP, weapons, etc.

Agreed.

We do have an "issues" area at https://github.com/karrde/ffg_swrpg/issues so if you have a github account, you are welcome to file things there. Otherwise, we will try to create tracking issues as suggestions are made.

Woot. Enhancement requests filed.

Just got the notifications on that. Thanks again!

Adversaries are done (for now)

http://swrpg.viluppo.net/adversaries/

I've finally got all the EotE Adversaries input into the site. And just in time for my AoR books to arrive :)

Previously the Special field on Weapons has simply been a text entry. I've created an entry now for the Weapon Qualities found on pages 154-157 in E-CRB and 168-170 of A-CRB. The best feature of this is the ability to have this:

Once I have all the text fields converted over to links to the correct entry you'll be able to pull up a list of all weapons with a specific quality
