Hull Values vis a vis Damage.

By DraconPyrothayan, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Even though you've been dealt Damage Cards, it doesn't change the Hull Value of your ship, right?

I have seen this stated before somewhere on the forum, but figured I'd start a new thread on it rather than find a single comment from the past month at 2:45 am.

It matters solely in the case of Flechette Torpedoes at the moment, but may become more prevalent in the future.

That is correct. No where in the rules are there anything about decreasing hull value. The proces for dealing damage only talks about removing shields and dealing damage cards. Allso the rule about being destroyed talks about having a number of damage cards equal to or greater then your hull value, that to points to your hull value being constant.

Yes any value printed on the card doesn't change unless instructed to by some effect in the game. Such as VI or losing a stealth device.

I think the only thing that can change Hull Value at the moment is the Hull Upgrade, or, in the case of the CR-90, having a crippled section.

As noted the only thing in the game that changed Hull value is the Hull Upgrade modification (and CR-90 rules). Putting a Hull Upgrade on a HWK does push it out of Flechette range.

Yeah, Flechette Torps are designed to damage lighter ships, so the more hardy ones should be immune to the stress incurred.
