I had this ruins board I used for warhammer 40K and I got the idea that it might make a good "space station" board. I grabbed the plastic inserts from the ships and used gray primer.

We ran the obstacles (small buildings) as obstructed +1 to defensive dice and you can place ships on top. The larger buildings were the same except if you came into contact with them you would roll the damage dice and see what happens to your ship.

had a hella good time with the board flying in tight quarters. had an X-wing explode from impacting one of the buildings when it only had 1 hull point left. It was a good use of those plastic inserts. We are adding turbo lasers using legos and painting them to match in future games.

Looks great and a really creative thing to do with the inserts!

What do you do when a maneuver would overlap?

If its a small building , its obstruction like in rule book and defender gets an extra die for defense. if its a larger building then defender gets obstruction die if behind it but person on it or touching it rolls a die for damage.

We had an X-wing on his last hull point impact against a building and explode...it was awesome the buildings are not that different from asteroids except you can fly on them
