What would you say are the top squads right now?

Whatever my opponent ran that beat me... It's unfair that I'm always losing to the best current squad. =P

In all seriousness, I don't think there are "top" lists right now... There may be good archtypes, but I'd be hardpressed to say that even XXBB is the top archtype.

Would you consider Regional winning squads "Top Squads"? It's so hard to say one squad is heads above the others because player skill level, dice, and luck will always play a factor.

XXBB(Or any other list with 4 rebel ships with three attack)

Falcon and 2 X/Bs

Tie-Swarm

Firespray, Shuttle, Ties

Those are, in my opinion, the best two archetypes for each faction.

These builds offer numbers, durability, and high offensive firepower.

Definitely the Los Angeles Kings.

I would definately say those are the most used builds for each faction. You could also add a Firespray with 2 high PS Interceptors to that list

The squad's only half the victory. Anyone can pick up Paul Heaver's list but they won't win the Championships because they're missing Paul Heaver. Know your squad and you'll beat netdeckers that don't almost every time (assuming you aren't running 5 naked Y-wings or something)

Most used doesn't mean best though. It means most popular. XXBB is popular because it's relatively simple to play decently, you can play it well, and Paul proved that it can win. But is it particularly better than XBBB? Or XABB? One could argue that XABB is worse because it loses an attack die, but one could then argue that it's actually better because it's more versatile and has less hard counters, and has a better end game closer. But is that enough to get rid of that extra attack die?

Not to mention the variation in the lists I put up.

XXBB has 2 Red Squads and two Daggers with Advanced Sensors or Ion cannons, 2 Rookies, and 2 Blues with Heavy Laser, and a number of other builds. It's just a place to start.

*this coming from a Lakers fan...

I'm seeing a ton of XXBB, Wes Janson Superfriends (3 high PS Xs usually), Biggs Walks the Dogs (specifically, as just opposed to other XXBB), Howlrunner swarms, good ole Luke/Wedge/Biggs (sometmes with Wes instead of Luke). The last time I saw something really creative was awhile ago, though that will change as we get Wave 4 into the fold.

HISH is an emerging top squad. That's a Howlrunner Interceptor Swarm Hybrid. It generally runs Howlrunner, three Academies and two generic Interceptors (usually Alphas) with a few upgrades here and there. Seems to be more potent than Howlrunner with six Academies.

I was looking at something like this, as I don't have 7 Ties. It Looks Potent. I might have to run it some time.
