This one always comes up for me. Is it "ex-eh-cute-or" (sounds like execute but isn't a real word, would be Executioner) or "ex-ek-u-tor" (a real word (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executor) but doesn't sound like execute and is possibly unrelated)?

That's what I thought, but occasionally references come up where its meaning is taken as the same as executioner, such as the page quote on Wookiee. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Executor As LFL looks through the stuff they license and can be rather zealous (Jedi Master Soon Baytes was an author playing a trick on them for doing this) I do wonder...
I pronounce it like someone is going to Execute you. Darth Vader was Sidious' executioner, so it makes sense.

It's not a made up word... Executor (pronounced Ex-Zek-U-Tor) is a real word.
I always wanted to call this ship the "execute-or", because this seemed a more fitting title for the murderous command wedge of Death Squadron, as "Ex-zecutor" sounded like a more noble and benign business manager title. While there is a day shift manager Darth out there, he isn't in the Star Wars universe.

Excecute-or is just mispronouncing the word. Eggs-zek-yoo-tor is the correct pronunciation, and in this specific instance, has the same meaning as the implication of execute-or.
