Putting colour in the Monk's cheeks...

By talismanisland, in Talisman

Just thought I'd share an advance peek at something that will be gracing Talisman Island in (hopefully) the near future.

I decided to take the plunge and have my figures painted as I have as much artistic talent as an anvil!

The difference it makes to the plain grey figures is amazing. Just look at this first example...

I'll let you know when the gallery is taking shape.

Magnificent! And as one fumble fingers with the paint brush, who is the excellent artist?

Great shading and basing of the miniature. Looks like excellent techniques with inks and washes. I will hopefully get around to painting my figures as well. I will especially enjoy painting the Grim Reaper. gran_risa.gif

I look foward to more miniatures being added to a gallery. Thanks.

Looks very good Jon aplauso.gif

The painter is Steve Dean who has a nice gallery of painted figures , including older editions of Talisman which are featured in the Miniatures section at Talisman Island.

Here's the latest addition...

Looks very good to me gran_risa.gif

i wish that my figures where painted lengua.gif

I'm still iffy if I'd like painted figs. I keep them all currently in a ziplock bag. If they were painted, would need to find a new storage solution, one portable to take with me.

Of course, I'd prefer cardboard cutouts anyway cool.gif .

Miniatures can still well in the main box with Dungeon and Reaper expansion. I keep them in one of the two big holders (the one that's too small for Character Cards. Toads get above Character Cards in another space, as well as Gold, Dice and Fate in the ziplocks. But after the Dungeon, I'll need to place new miniatures in another expansion box.

Steve Dean's figures are very nice, nothing to compare with my personal efforts. I don't know how he get the excellent shading on the Assassin's face.

The Assassin was the first miniature I've painted since 1999 and the outcome was quite rough. I painted Talisman miniatures in no time, because I wanted to start playing with painted figures, but in some cases I could have done a better job. If I have the time, I will paint my extra miniatures from the Upgrade pack (bought it and then changed my mind when I heard of board changes and cones) and try to give them a better look.

The assassin... sorpresa.gif ... I would love to see Steve at work. Wonder if he might ever do demo-video of brief captures of different stages of his process.
