For those of us that recently got a single z95, how have you been using it?

I am been tinkering with a few ideas but have not been able to get any games in since getting this ship. For those of you that have, what has been working?

I have been pondering:

Ions and the Bandit.
[ REBEL SQUADRON (100 points)
1 • Rebel Operative - Ion Cannon Turret (21)
2 • Rebel Operative - Ion Cannon Turret (21)
3 • Gold Squadron Pilot - Ion Cannon Turret (23)
4 • Gold Squadron Pilot - Ion Cannon Turret (23)
5 • Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)

4 ion turrets and a single bandit. It should have enough ion power to neutralize most rebel lists, Falcons with the turrets might be an issue. Worth trying out though.

XXYZ synergies.

[ REBEL SQUADRON (100 points)
1 • Airen Cracken - Wingman (21)
2 • Dutch Vander - Ion Cannon Turret (28)
3 • Garven Dreis (26)
4 • Biggs Darklighter (25)

Fly in formation. Everyone focuses. Airen shoots first and gives a TL to Dutch who gives a TL to Garven. Garven passes second focus to Biggs for defense. Wingman to help Dutch stay in formation.

Thoughts?

I personally love Mr. Thunder (Air'en Cracken) with Swarm tactics. Such a cheap 8 PS.

I promise you, someone's gonna make a list named that.
Anyways, I'd assume people are using it as a space filler in their lists until they're released, since even the best pilot is cheap. Until they're actually released, I don't see any Z-95 swarms popping up

Oh the hilarity that would ensue with list one! Shuttle? What shuttle?

That XXYZ made me drool, be ready for Dutch and Airen to break formation against a Phantom though. I would have Airen Swarm Garven so he can pass Biggs a second Focus earlier in combat. Swarm can also help Airen pass an Ion attack to Dutch against a Phantom who gets cocky.

I've tried the following list:

Lt. Blount with Assault missiles, deadeye 23

Biggs Darklighter 25

Tarn Mison 23

Wedge Antillies 29

Went 1-1 with it. Spreads out formation fliers and makes it difficult for the opponent to prioritize a target once Biggs is dead

I've just been letting my less fortunate friends use it

I keep thinking that a Bandit with Ion Pulse Missiles and Munitions Failsafe + four Rookie X-Wings will be a fairly brutal five ship Rebel list.

Best use I can think of for mine is a nice filler ship although I admit I am tempted to run Cluster Missiles on Cracken and a buddy or two with APTs and try for a nasty little combo. Although I don't how I would set this up yet I just know it might be worth exploring

Cracken with Wingman provides an interesting alternative to the 21 point rookie xwing

I am sure that one Headhunter is of little use.

You need three to six of them...then they will shine.

Blount with Assaults is nasty, but the king of the solo-Zs has got to be Airen Cracken, probably with Cluster Missiles, Munitions Failsafe, and an EPT of your choice.

Remember: Every time he attacks, an ally gets to become Turr Phennir. Cluster supplies him with two attacks.

Kinda makes me want to put him in a fleet with guys with Push the Limit and some mobility to them.

Blount, assault missile, deadeye. Best 23-point swarm counter you can get, and neatly replaces one of the x-wings in my BBXX/BXXX lists.

Hmm, this is a good point, I had not thought of that.
